Perfect for rock climbing, definitely recommend it for climbers- although it’s best if you bring your own gear, at least the quick draws because they do the have for rent (will only rent you the rope and personal equipment (shoes, harness and helmet) or you can go with a guide which costs around 30€ per person) food is great and staff very helpful. The place has an amazing view and great area for yoga 👌🏽 Loved it

Had an amazing stay at the Refugio! Amazing climbing and great accommodation. The views out the back of the Refugio were incredible. I was in the dorm but it all felt very luxury and great value for money. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to come back soon!

This place is a refuge in every sense of the word. It's not just another hostal/hotel. It's a sanctuary, a community, a place to find peace and comfort and happiness and a home - these things are so important in the travelling community. I'm not a climber so I was worried I would be an outsider but from the moment I made the booking I was made to feel wanted and valued - the staff here are some of the most patient and friendly and genuinely caring people I've come across. They take the time to get to know you, chat to you, help you with anything you might need and are SO patient with us Spanish beginners. Jenny is a saint, a wonderful woman who has made this the perfect place for people to come together in a safe and friendly environment.
The space is simply stunning, it's by far one of the most beautiful Hostals I've stayed in and has something for every budget. The beds are warm and comfy with big fluffy towels provided, there's a kitchen and decent sized bathrooms.
They rent climbing gear so great for someone like me just wanting to have a go and have an amazing climbers gym and yoga space! The communal room is wicked with loads of activities to do, great for the rainy evenings and for socialising.
The view is probably one of the best I've come across for a hostal, that was enough for me alone! And finally, the restaurant. Honestly, wow. They have the MOST incredible food options, multiple vegan choices which is impossible to find usually, and everything tastes INCREDIBLE!! Baked goods, pancakes, burgers, pasta.. whatever you want they've got you covered. And it's so fresh and healthy too!
Honestly I cannot recommend this place enough. There's a reason people come here and end up staying for weeks or months. Everything about it was perfect. Thank you so much to all of the staff at la roca for welcoming me into your community and making my stay so wonderful 💕

A hostel/hotel with a private climbing park connected by trail. With changed ownership there is a little friction, but all changes appear to be for the better. A new menu of food and cocktails impress, while the views and unique cabins remain breathtaking. I cannot wait to return to see their changes and hopefully have more skill for the beautiful climbing routes.

Always a great relaxing place to stay, just a couple minutes away from some of the best rock climbing in Colombia.

Great Hostel for climbing, relaxing and enjoying the fantastic views. Stayed 6 nights in the clean and nice dorms, but also had one night in the private room La Nube, which was amazing. Can highly recommend this coupled with room service meals. Restaurant is nice with decent food and prices, and the free coffee every morning really good. The place also has a basic kitchen where you can cook yourself, having a fridge, stove and some cuttlery, which is nice. 5 minutes walk from the climbing is a really nice perk. Reception staff (and other staff) was very friendly and attentive, and helped us with a bunch of minor questions and cases. Can highly recommend. Otherwise, as we understood it, the refugio had a change of ownership while we were there. Will be interresting to see how this might affect the place going forward.

I stayed here 10 days in November 2022. The best climbing spot I came across in 5 months in South America. Loved it!

What a stunning location right on the side of the mountain! Staff was friendly and the food was delicious! Great areas to sit, relax and have a drink. The 9 bed dorm was spacious and every bed had its own power source, light, and mosquito net. I would definitely recommend La Roca!

One of the most beautiful spots in the world. Amazing climbing and the staff is super hospitable and friendly. Restaurant is open every day and they even had an in house chiropractor when I was there! Sup Diego ;) Weather is 27 C and sunny on top of the mesa but more like 18 C at the crag, really nice conditions for sending. There is also a super friendly lady down the road who sells local produce for those who want to cook. Variety of price range for accommodations. High end private rooms are built into the rock face and overlook the valley which leads into the Chicamocha canyon which is apparently the second largest in the world. Lots of hammocks and good people. Climbed 8/9 days without losing skin. This place is a dream.

Absolutely wonderful! Pick the rooms near the canyon (320000+ COP) for a fantastic experience. Avoid the Guane room: the glass ceiling is great to see the stars, but it also becomes a greenhouse during the day.

One of the best places I been to climb. Amazing food, 5min walk to the crag, the town is in walking distance, great atmosphere, climbing wall, hangboard and pull up bars to warm up or cool down, nice hikes and killer view! Climbing grades for all the tastes.

I traveled with my husband and my two sons 25 and 22 years old. We stayed from October 4th till the 7th of October. How to describe this place: I was in heaven and slept in las nubes. Literally that is the name of one the rooms. The service was Amazing. Beginning with Karen at the reception, Mario at the bar/restaurant, Lucho the climber guide and the rest of the staff whom I apologize for not learning your names. The view from our rooms was incredible. Seeing the Sunrise everyday is one of the many miracles we experienced daily. The rooms were clean. You can stay at the private cabins for about $100 a night, but they have other rooms a lot more affordable. We did the vertical walk and I would strongly recommend you ask for Lucho. Made our experience 100 times Amazing. What an incredible experience. The place is known for the climb, but if that is not your cup of tea; then just relax and enjoy the scenery. I am from Cali and currently live in the USA. I found in this place a second place I can call home.
I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to find a piece of heaven here on earth.

Really liked this place. View from the room was breathtaking. Restaurant was amazing. The only negative was hearing a rooster who started crowing at 5am and would not stop!!

Overall, our experience here was great. The kitchen had some issues, but I think they were understaffed. It’s a beautiful place with all the amenities!

Incredible place to relax in the hills and spend a few days. We went from 3 and ended up staying a week. Great of you like climbing too as plenty of routes on their doorstep

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Good food, cute rooms, and the people who work there are lovely. The beds are firm; bring a mattress topper if you're use to a softer mattress.

Dream land happy place forever!!!!! Clean beautiful hostels, unreal view and friendly helpful staff. The food is high class and low price, with your free coffee do not forget to try the homemade chocolate bread. For climbers, most accessible climbing in Colombia for all levels 5.7-5.14. Relax all morning and when the sun hits midday the rock receives shade and you can climb into the night (use headlamp). This place is perfect for families all the way to scummy hippy travelers and climbers. Go here because there may not be much time in your life to go anywhere more endearing on the planet.

Incredible place to climb. Just a heads up that that you need to take a test to climb there as it is on private land. You need to show anchor building and cleaning.
Climb in the afternoon sun, as the wall is on the shade after about 11.
