We had a great stay at Hacienda El Guayabal!
The attention was really impeccable: The owners and employees were all incredibly caring and helpful. I cite: 'you are our guests and while you are here we need to take good care of you'.
Especially Pilo would anticipate any wish you may have. We also enjoyed the coffee tour with Santiago very much. And the cooking, which was at the same time simple and still imaginative and of very high quality.

We loved every bit of our stay at this wonderful Place in the middle of coffee mountains. Jorge and all the staff were so welcoming and couldn’t have made our stay more pleasant. The coffee tour with Santiago was very interesting, you will learn everything about the process from picking the fruit to making an espresso - go on the tour!! We had the best time and would highly recommend everyone who wants to spend some peaceful time to visit this coffee paradise! Thank you Jorge!

Such a nice little oasis in a beautiful part of the country. Jorge speaks good English and was extremely available and even offered his number so that I could call him for anything during my stay in Colombia.

The rooms are rustic and charming. The views outstanding. Highly, highly recommend their in house coffee tour which literally walks you through the entire process from harvesting to sampling different brewing methods. Honestly one of my best memories from my whole Colombia trip.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - Santiago, our guide, was absolutely wonderful - informative, interactive, very smart and generally a lovely guy. He studied biology and so also was able to point out all the local plants and wildlife. The tour was about 4 hours and we learnt everything from planting the coffee plant right to trying the (deliciously smooth) coffee. We also loved the stunning views, friendly dogs and fascinating hummingbirds (which you can sit and watch up close). Thank you Santiago and Jorge! Tip: don’t bother getting a taxi from Manizales, the bus is very easy and MUCH cheaper.

Wonderful Colombian hospitality. Very welcoming and lovely family. A once in a lifetime opportunity for a visiting Australian. Jorge speaks English which is a bonus. Not to forget their delicious coffee which I was able to drink black without the help of any sugar or milk, which is not normal for me. A must for coffee lovers and dog lovers too. The family have a least 6 dogs on the property. The accommodation was very comfortable with incredible views of the coffee plantation.

Great experience, perfect way to discover the coffee world. Family was very nice, we had a nice tour, clear explanations and good degustation! Totally recommended. Price per person is 50000COP but totally worth it.

Great and informative your with lovely and knowledgeable guides. Everything you'd want to know about coffee in an afternoon. Amazing setting too, and a quick bus+taxi from Manizales.

We enjoyed a fabulous coffee tour at this family-run place. It was very interactive, informative and organised, and the host was super friendly. He was able to answer any question thrown at him about coffee or Colombia. Lunch was made using food grown on site. Loved all the exotic birds around, including parrots, toucans and woodpeckers. The family dogs seemed to enjoy the tour too. :) Can't think of anything negative -- a very wonderful and memorabe experience!

Great place! We stayed overnight and did the coffee tour, enjoyed the food, the room and all the people working there.

Last year I took the tour at Hacienda Valencia, the other popular cafe tour, but I felt Hacienda Guyabal was somewhat better.

Bottom line, we definitely enjoyed our time there and felt the money spent was a good value. The other guests I spoke to felt the same way.

We were a group four staying at Hacienda Guayabal for three nights in one of the cabins. We had a wonderful time in the cabin and in the beautiful property. From the moment we arrived, we were amazed at the beauty and peacefulness around us. We spent some of our first afternoon just reading on the balcony overlooking the mountains. The only problem we had was deciding on how to divide our time on the hammock. Jorge and his family running the hotel and restaurant were very professional and the place was very well run. The food was great and the staff were very attentive and kind. Jorge helped us find transportation and worked with us every step of the way to make our stay very memorable. We did the coffee tour with Phillipe and it was really interesting. He had so much knowledge and passion for the coffee and process at Hacienda Guayabal. Our group would stay here again if we find ourselves in Chinchina again.

We did a coffee tour through the whole area.
Our guide was very kind and had a lot of knowledge about the coffee plantage.
We also had the chance to try a couple of different kinds of coffee.
Overall a really great experience and we got even a certificate.
You can buy their homemade coffee and just the smell is worth going there.

This place is an unforgettable experience. A 65 hectare coffee farm in the gorgeous Caldas region in operation for 75 years Comprehensive coffee knowledge & experience. 3 hours that begins with a cup of delicious coffee (skip the sugar). Then a tour of the finca where you will press the cherry, pick it, bring it to the sorter, the demucousifier, dryer, parchment remover, 13 steps of certified Colombian coffee. Then back to the mirador where you learn to taste the differences in extraction. Santiago does an impressive job in English, and Sr. Juan was the consummate host.

Really nice place to stay and have a good night with only the sounds of the nature, the forest and the birds in the mornings.

It has a big space to walk a little while and stretch meanwhile you can see the colombian mountains. It has a good pool and a tennis table to play.

And also it provides you the possibility to see and learn about the coffee process in their own hotel with their coffee crops.

I stayed five days in Hacienda Guayabal and it was a wonderful experience. For me it was all about relaxing and enjoying nature and this is the perfect spot to do just that. They have a good swimming pool, lots of birdlife that you can easily spot (especially the feeders with the hummingbirds were wonderful), the food is good and the surroundings are tranquil and beautiful. You can go hiking on the plantation, up the hills for some nice views. And you are on a working plantation so you get a taste of how hard these people have to work. The coffee tour is very informative and well executed and i was happy to see that this is a truly sustainable coffee farm where nothing is wasted.
Last but not least, Jorge and the other people working in the hotel really take good care of you.

A wonderful and comprehensive tour in two parts with passionate guides, and a delicious lunch in gorgeous surrounds. We made our own way there from Manizales and were there in the late afternoon when the whole place really sung. Jorge is not only super passionate and informative about the second part of coffee production (export) he is also really friendly and helpful. For 60000 COP per person including lunch it was a fantastic half day that fully exceeded expectations!
