Successive glaciations have moulded the landscape in the region creating spectacular features such as moraines, glacial cirques and clean water lakes. The vegetation is dominated by dense forest, which give way to alpine meadows. Most distinctive is its alerce forest.

Beautiful park!! Lots of different levelled trails and good accuracy of time spent on each trail. Not super easy to get to, or travel within the park if you don't have your own car. Would recommend renting a car and camping within the park. One bus a day from Esquel there and return (8am-18h45 from top of park, arrival at 21h30 back in Esquel). Also, if you start at the information desk, then decide you would like to go further into the park, well... you walk for 5kms or more on a gravel road to reach your desired location. To get to the Torrecillas glacier or see the alceres giant trees you need to book an excursion as the only access is via boat

This park is beautiful.
Very quiet, with a lot of special trees and animals.
The park is full of signs and easy to navigate.

Los Alerces National Park (Spanish: Parque Nacional Los Alerces) is located in the Andes in Chubut Provincein the Patagonian region of Argentina. Its western boundary coincides with the Chilean border. Successive glaciations have molded the landscape in the region creating spectacular features such as moraines, glacial cirques and clear-water lakes. The vegetation is dominated by dense temperate forests, which give way to alpine meadows higher up under the rocky Andean peaks. A highly distinctive and emblematic feature is its alerce forest; the globally threatened alerce tree is the second longest living tree species in the world (>3,600 years). The alerce forests in the park are in an excellent state of conservation. The property is vital for the protection of some of the last portions of continuous Patagonian Forest in an almost pristine state and is the habitat for a number of endemic and threatened species of flora and fauna.

Lovely lake views in a deep forest, go with sunny weather to enjoy better.
