XY Company Paddles

Spencer, like his father before him, makes paddles which can only described as works of art. However these are also paddles which are meant to be used and used hard. They are light but also strong where strength is required. These are laminated paddles made with many different species of wood. The grip is sculpted to fit the hand. He will also build custom paddles which he has done for me and which his father did for friends of ours. I have 2 straight shaft paddles which were made by him. My wife has a bent shaft. We also have 2 bent shafts which his father Don made for us in 1999. We have received many compliments on their beauty. Last summer, we met some people from the States who were extolling the merits of their [ non-XY ] paddles and were suggesting that we should investigate purchasing some. I pulled out our XY paddles and they ceased talking!

My son and I have bought and used XY Company Paddles for many years. They are the finest craftsmanship. I have encouraged the many Boy Scout crews I have organized, trained and taken to the Boundary Waters & Canada (over 300 participants) to purchase XY Company Paddles and use them on their treks. They become their most cherished souvenir.
