Cedars & Co. Food Market

Cedars is a reliable local grocery store, with friendly staff, reasonable prices and a good selection- including some hard to find specialty items. In spring and summer they also carry a variety of plants. My only complaint is that the selection of fresh bread could be better, but I love that this store is in old Ottawa South.

Reasonable prices for a small, independent grocer (especially on produce because it has to move); fantastic selection of produce, everyday basics, international items, and items for restricted diets; great hours; friendly staff.100% very pleased that it's in my neighbourhood, and I go there a lot.

Great market for fresh produce and great local foods. Used to have schwarma in the shop which is now located next door, at Strand schwarma

Best grocery store in the area!! Its not the biggest but it is well stocked, organized, and run by very friendly people

Strolling down Bank street, I stumbled upon this gem. It's so rare these days to come across such independent stores; cosy, affordable and meeting your needs for groceries without overwhelming you.

Much bigger than the one on Kilborn. Lots of product that you would never find in large grocery stores. The line up at the registry can be very confusing at times.

An absolute gem of a local grocery store. Staff was super friendly, the price for my New York strip steak was better than large chain stores such as farm boy, loblaws etc. Couldn’t recommend this place more! Also a great local grocer to help support

Happy I bought some vegetable plants and got 40% off. The cashier helped me get the plants to my car. Such good service and polite staff. I will shop there again. I recommend this place. I bought cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers and kale plants .

I popped on here to write a review of this fabulous little gem in our city. I had to stop reading because there’s some pretty “ugly” comments on here which are completely unjust. Defamation of character seems more like a case of personal vendetta to me. I’m not sure if these people are talking about the same place but I can tell you that The Owners of Cedars & Co. Are two of the hardest working people I have seen. It is a rare day when you see the owners of a business actually getting their own hands dirty. I have had nothing else but positive experiences here and I have found both of the owners to be very kind and helpful. In fact, I was looking for a specific product and although they didn’t have it Marilyn Went the extra mile and began stocking what I was looking for. That just doesn’t happen anywhere else.

I am in love with this locally owned business. I have been shopping here for many years and I will go out of my way to stop in for the best Shawarma in the city. I live in Manotick and I will continue to frequent Cedars not only for the fabulous selection of products but for the excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and dedicated and hard working, kind Owners (Marilyn and Brian). Thanks for all you do to bring the best to your patrons!!!! 5 Stars in my opinion*****

A great local store. Has a wide variety of fresh produce much of it sourced locally. Has everything you’d need and more. I shop here every couple of days and occasionally get a couple of shawarma platters for the four of us at home or a mix and match of prepared items. Thanks for taking care of us thru the pandemic.

Good shawarma, and their produce is always of great quality. Good selection of grocery items. Their staff is always very friendly and helpful.

If you ever need a niche ingredient and have no idea where to find it… I’ll bet you that Cedar’s has it. From any cuisine or country! They have an amazing selection of food despite the store’s small footprint and so many great items made by local producers.

We love this place! Prices are good, produce is fresh and the quality is amazing compared to huge chain grocery stores. The shawarma is delicious, and the side potatoes were some of the most fresh, well-cooked & seasoned potatoes I have ever had. My partner and I live close-by, this place is so convenient and sells smaller servings for 1 or 2 meals (perfect if you're only cooking for yourself, or you and one other person). The staff are all friendly and helpful as well.

Had a fantastic, catered 26th Anniversary dinner with salads, falafels and all the fixings. Cedars did an amazing job - great quality, great presentation and great price. Also supper easy to set up.

We're so fortunate to have Cedar's in our neighbourhood! I am always amazed how many great products they manage to put on their seemingly limited shelf space and I love how they're always willing to bring in new, exciting products. Cedars caters to everyone, but also have an incredible selection of vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and other specialty products.
The staff and owners are wonderful and we count ourselves very lucky to have this gem just a short walk away.

Cedars & Co is a great local store with a wide variety of food, including locally sourced products. The produce is always fresh. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful - their delivery service during the pandemic has been a life saver, and I am grateful they have continued with it (and thank you Paul!) The owners care about about their staff and customers, and do everything they can to keep everyone safe through the pandemic. We are lucky to have Cedars (and Brian and Marilyn) in our neighbourhood.

I visit Cedars & Co regularly and have always been treated with warmth and kindness by staff. They have a great selection of specialty items, including plenty of great vegan and gluten-free options. It seems every time I visit the store they have interesting new products to try.

I have been to this location and it is fully stocked. Marilyn and her staff have been conscious of the COVID-19 rules in place. I feel safe. The genuine kindness of the service provided at this location has been too notch. Marilyn goes out of her way to ensure that the products I have been interested in are accessible. She has also provided delivery service when needed and I could not leave my home. I recommend this location and it is open from 9-9 everyday. It really is a convenience for my long work days.

This place is amazing! Last week was our first visit and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much they offer. The fresh cabbage rolls were delicious and a great value at only $3.99 for two. I highly recommend. And the shawarma shop inside had probably the best shawarma we have ever eaten. Again great value for huge portions and delicious food.

Great store. Thank goodness for stores like this. Family owned. Great food counter. The food they sell is an easy mix of standards and unique. I drop in for a few staples and inevitably leave with something new too. Always had great and friendly service.
