Parliament Hill has a fascinating allure. During our days in Ottawa, we often found ourselves here, relishing the atmosphere and using the surroundings for leisurely walks. For those visiting in the summer, it's essential to check if the laser show is happening. The event is free to attend and provides a beautifully presented overview of Canada's history.

Massive structure of building with architectural facade. It’s connected of three buildings. West, east n centre core of building. This building has undergoing of renovation work. I just walked around that building. I didn’t enter into the building. Definitely people coming here and visit this historic building.

A beautiful place and important symbol of country and our democracy.

The ongoing renovations severely hampers the experience as cranes disrupt the views and the whole area behind centre block is inaccessible, but these things are part of progress and I look forward to it all being finished

One of the most beautiful and picturesque parts of the city. Canadian Parliament Buildings, built in revival Gothic Style are standing proudly atop the hill since the mid-nineteenth century. These buildings are the crown jewel of the cityscape. While a significant portion is currently undergoing extensive renovation and restoration, limiting tourist access, the surrounding park offers a haven of beauty.

Despite the construction, immerse yourself in the serene surroundings, capturing the essence of the historic structures in hundreds of captivating photos. Explore nearby culinary delights at food joints, basking in the sun-drenched atmosphere.

For those eager to delve into the rich history and architecture, consider pre-booking a guided tour. Unfortunately, we missed out on tickets during our visit, but it's firmly on our agenda for the future.

Beautiful! Rich in history , under conservation proyect, so will have to be careful. Take the time to explore and enjoy the marvelous work and take pictures, busy during the summer with lots of tourists. Try to be courteous as everyone wants
to have a picture of the beautiful building like castles. Happy travels!

Worth visiting while in Ottawa. Amazing architecture. Great view of the city and canal from the hill.
Renovation in main building are ongoing. Parking nearby coins be an issue. Waking to parliament is much better and you won’t miss anything.

A huge historical building (in Canadian standard, that is) which governs all Canada. Free to visit, free parking on the residential streets near by, and definitely beautiful to visit. There are many other buildings to visit near by. Very secure and safe to visit at any time.

Gorgeous views, lots of history here! It's a very memorable experience that I'd recommend to anyone with the chance to visit Ottawa, the canal nearby is also a great spot for photos especially on a nice day! A good chance for a bike ride, which I'd recommend over taking the steep steps

I love the historical facts located around the building, but it is a bit disappointing that the back pathway is blocked due to renovations. The peace tower is quite the sight to see, as it is a main thing to see in Ottawa. The building is overall a great place to see and it has beautiful walking paths around it.

Parliament Hill is the centerpiece of Canadian history. It is clearly a fortress as well as the seat of the Canadian government. It's a beautiful Park and is rich with architectural gems and state sculptures. It is the best place in the world to see the July 1st celebrations with fireworks and pageantry. If You get a chance, stay beside Parliament Hill at the chateau Laurier for the full historic effect. And take the path way down to the river beneath The cliffs to see its military location as it defends itself from onset the Ottawa River.

I recommend guided tour in House of Commons. Website says to arrive 25 minutes before for security check up but it took just 2 minutes. Free place to leave your coat and nice gift shop.

First time to Ottawa, we booked tours of the east and west block buildings. Both were very informative. We also went to the light show at night which was actually really amazing. Beautiful grounds and buildings, even during construction/renovations. I would recommend a trip here.

Although the main building is currently being renovated you can still tour the House of Commons and the Senate. Tours are free, each building has a separate tour. You can book your tour time online, which I highly recommend, as they were turning away people without advance tickets when we arrived for our early afternoon tour because all of the tickets for the day had been booked. Tours start from the visitors center and you will have to go through a security screening in which all loose and metal objects must be put through a scanner and you must walk through a metal detector - similar to airport security. Allow time for the security lineup or you might miss your tour. Bag size is strictly limited - check dimensions online before coming for your tour.
Once inside you proceed to the waiting area until your tour is called, where there is plenty of comfortable seating, restrooms and a gift shop. You will come back through the same room following your tour, so wait until you return to shop.
We had a lovely tour guide, Mireille, who was fluent in both English and French and had a thorough knowledge of the architecture, history and trivia related to Parliament - there was a quiz (just for fun).
There is no parking at Parliament, so you will need to park at a public garage or take transit (there was a bus stop directly opposite).
The tour for each building lasts about 45 minutes and you will be standing and walking the entire time. There are accommodations and options to borrow a wheelchair to use if you don’t think you can stand for so long.
A very interesting and educational tour - highly recommend!

What a beautiful city!

I've had a tremendous time in our Capital, Ottawa!

Parliament Hill is stunning and the grass is excellent.

The community certainly seems to be a tremendous asset with genuine purpose in the Kingdom of God.

What a beautiful place to call home, Canada.

Really cool to walk around Parliament Hill. The centre block is closed for construction and will be likely for the next decade (a tour guide at the Senate told me this today). But still really beautiful to walk around outside.

We stopped by to see the light show that started at 930pm. We were very impressed with the show. They were many people there yet it was still easy to see the event that was projected onto the parliament buildings. There were many police there and they made the area feel safe. Overall I would highly recommend making the effort to see this. We even managed to park relatively close for free

Was honoured to be part of 15,000 who came for the Canadian Rally for the Jewish People. We sang and cheered with love and support for one another and our country.

One of Ottawa's historic spots. It's especially beautiful when people come together to peacefully protest and advocate for all human lives. Definitely a place worth visiting
