Clean, comfortable, modern store for Taiwanese food, snacks, and cooking ingredients. Nice helpful staff too. I don’t go often because it’s far for me, but each time I’m delighted by new products on the shelves. They really do specialize in Taiwanese products, so they carry LEGIT made-in-Taiwan things that you don’t often see in the larger Asian/Chinese grocery stores. For example, last time I visited they had the traditional, flaky, powdery peanut candy in my photo. Yes, the container is empty because I ate it all and it was delicious and tasted like my childhood and I loved it and I’m sad it’s gone now.

Other things I got include dried guava and dried green mango and freshly made lunar new year glutinous rice treats.

This is one of those “could #TikTok review be real?” - what if instead of a snooty restaurant you had (an exquisite burger at Burgers Park next door for under $40 easy, parking included) and bought crazy high end real unique products from a culture that really respects quality over quantity.

At this time in my life I’d rather buy a higher protein miso soup or delicious unique (lower than usual sodium) squid treat that is perfect for movie night (hello #Cineplex buy these instead to sell WITH Gummy Bears) or in my case to keep business travel spicy! I’m eating a (odourless, no smells on the plane please!) $2 coffee candy instead of $12 Pringles.

I couldn’t help take a lot of pictures because the design flow, the colours and textures are like a private jet designed by a botanist. With the clean and warm comfort of one too. Private lounge vibes. But seriously, competitive with Shoppers and 7-11 (as a business traveller this usually where I go in a rush) which is cool but this spot is a real treat.

Huge Thank you to Alice, Eric & the Cantonese speaking team @ Maeli! I have pre-ordered these Lunar New Year items a week ago as gifts to my grandma. She is a 92yo lady w/ busy schedule so I have to change my pickup day 2 times in a week. I feel so embarassed but Alice and the team never gave me attitude and even told me they will specifically make my foods fresh on Sunday. At Checkout, Eric intentionally found me a bag in red colour while he is busy dealing with other staff. My grandma and mom love the food so much. We also greatly appreciated their team effort in perfecting our orders.

The snacks (in red & yellow colour with NO PRESERVATIVES): Yes, Alice, it's not too sweet. They do reminded me the childhood taste of "Turtle Goods".

The rice bowl (which used ORGANIC glutinous rice): taste just perfect, not too sweet nor salty. My grandma and mom said this taste better than most of the sticky rice they bought from other restaurants.

Thank you again & Happy Lunar New Year to the Maeli Team!

We LOVE Maeli! We often buy snacks and items from here before getting dinner at one of the restaurants nearby. Maeli is beautifully designed and has a great idea variety to Taiwanese snacks, foods and things that remind me of my childhood. Service is great too - the staff are very nice.

I recently stumbled upon Maeli Market and was blown away by their amazing selection of Taiwanese snacks and specialty milk tea. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere, as well as the friendly staff who were eager to help me find what I was looking for. The shelves were stocked with an incredible variety of snacks, from savory to sweet, and everything in between. But what really stood out to me was their specialty milk tea from Taiwan - it was simply delicious and refreshing!

In addition to the great selection, the prices were also very reasonable. I was thrilled to find my favorite dry fish with black sesame, which I've been trying to find for a while now, and it was much more affordable than at other markets. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Maeli Market, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great selection of Taiwanese snacks and specialty milk tea at an affordable price.

We always visit this market for authentic Taiwanese groceries. We are impressed with them organizing this Taiwanese food festival and we indeed visit them 4 times during this promotion. They picked the cooperating vendors from different parts of Taiwan. The whole event has successfully introduced us with new and excellent quality of food. We can explore new taste and interaction with them. We hope that the market can arrange more of this type of events in the very near future! Thank you very much!

EDIT: came back recently and found the store to have even more unique Taiwanese items at competitive prices. Staff is as helpful as ever. A young gentleman saw me looking through the tea options and offered his insight about the flavours.

Really enjoyed walking through this well stocked Taiwanese store. They have lots of real Taiwan imported snacks, drinks, cooking ingredients, tea, and more. There's also a hot food section that has some ready to go items but also a selection of made-to-order bentos and dishes. Staff are very nice and helpful. The space is clean and everyone is wearing masks properly.

There is a paid parking garage connected to the building but if you spend $15+ you can get parking validated for free.

Such beautiful hidden gem in North York! Very unique and stylish boutique Taiwanese supermarket! Lots of authentic Taiwanese groceries, snacks, cookies, noodles, tea, drinks, as well as fancy kitchen cookwares and dinning sets. They have a kitchen where you can order fresh made takeouts. Love their lunch bentos! Very nicely presented and super delicious! Parking in the garage is free for purchase over $15. Most importantly, excellent and super friendly customer service! Highly recommended!

This is a fully Taiwanese grocery. I can find many Taiwanese snacks that I can’t find on other stores. Highly recommended for all the Taiwanese.

Came here for the snacks, bentos, and free parking with $15 spend.

They took my order at the check out counter. There is some seating and utensils are provided. The popcorn chicken bento for $12.85 is great. Chicken is very juicy on the inside. Vermicelli bento for $6.99 is pre-made but not refrigerated, food safety is a little questionable as it does have egg and beef in it also. It's smaller than the warm bentos, but definitely still worth it if you get it right after its made. The noodles are a touch spicy and flavourful. The bao for $5.79 was just ok. Smaller than I expected with two pieces of pork belly that tasted like tea eggs. The flavour of the pork and the pickled veggies did not really match.

There are snacks, drinks, bubble tea ingredients, some grocery items, a wall of tea, soap, vinegars, and more. Overall, a good place to grab a quick lunch and a snack.

One of the best Taiwanese markets in North York. Many local products that you can’t find anywhere else and high quality ingredients like spices, dried foods and desserts. There’s also a kitchen, you can try some freshly made Taiwanese snacks while you shop.

This place is far from where I live but I think I love this place. The place is clean with good vibe and it specialized in selling Taiwanese items. The staff there are very polite and friendly.

This place is a supermarket and also sell hot food items as well. I know nothing about Taiwanese goods so I really cannot say how good or authentic the items are but when I check the item they sell randomly, pretty much all the items I looked at is made in Taiwan so I guess it's authentic.. lol. I had a nice time shopping there and bought some items I don't normally find in TnT or Chinese supermarket, eg. Passionfruit vinegar, Plum vinegar, onion oil, garlic oil ... etc..

Also tried their hot food items and I wouldn't say it's the best tasting food but it is a pretty looking meal box and taste good in my opinion. Cost about $11 per meal box on average, not cheap but not super expensive either ... so I went there again the next day to try some of their other meal box as well. Give it a try...

From talking to the folks who worked there, they opened for a year during when Ontario got hit by pandemic the hardest... poor them. I hope they will continue to do well as I do love this place. So support them when u can. :)

We got a lunch Bento box and glad it was stuffed with food! Lots of small side dishes and not overstuffed with rice. Grocery prices are higher, but expected for import goods. Most items are ideal for gifting but also have some sundries such as preserves, sauces.

Really nice market, a fair amount of food and snack options from Taiwan. There are some nice artisan housewares as well, though they are more on the pricey side. They do prepare food on site, haven't had a chance to try.

I'm so glad Maeli Market has opened in my nearby neighborhood during this pandemic time. It certainly provides my level of comfort foods. It has varieties of authentic Taiwanese foods that 100% imported from Taiwan. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I also noticed that it has kitchen in the store, assuming it will sell hot foods in the near future. Thank you for bringing home foods to me and providing the certain level of comforting 😌
