Enjoy shopping at this medium independent store. Plenty of deals to be had. Produce is often local when in season (hot sauce time), though sometimes fruit is a bit bruised, they avoid too much waste. Quality of meat very good. In-store sausage is my go-to meal.
Selection is good, many imported and unique brands full of flavor. Chocolate clearance all the time. Dangerous temptations.

The Garden Basket is a Markham large scale grocery store that supports local farmers or unique producers.

Very organized and high quality produce department. Flower/garden center that's fully stocked year round. Meats are high quality and marketed as hormone and antibiotic free. There's a full service deli, hot food and sushi counter. Limited selection on fresh seafood. Pantry aisles are well organized. Staff is friendly. Plenty of parking spaces.

Wonderful market that services all my grocery needs. Very clean and a great selection of fresh fruits and meats. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Always a pleasure shopping here.

Garden basket is a pretty cool grocery store with retro looking decor with small town vibes. They have products that other grocery stores don't carry. The produce looks fresh and have little signs to help shoppers identify what products are from Ontario.

Their manager was super helpful with helping me get a lot of focaccia bread for an event. I was in a rush to get last minute items and he was very quick in bringing more from the back and making sure I had all I needed. This was the only grocery store that had quality focaccia at a reasonable price.

Top shelf quality produce and meats! Only grocery that sells Knax pickles. Sadly they don't carry Hungarian Paprika

Good small choice of Macedonian products in Toronto area. They have Made in Macedonia Burek (traditional phyllo pie), as well as Ajvar (roasted red pepper spread), and Roasted red peppers in a jar. Good pricing on the above as well. They also carry Fino Fine Foods apple chips that are made in Macedonia. Thanks for stocking these items for the large Macedonian community in your area!

Local market with friendly staff and delicious produce, breads, and meats. Sushi made on the premises by additional warm and attentive staff members.

There are all kinds of goods you can’t find in other stores and some of goods from Italy. Meats are good quality. Bakeries are delicious. My favour grocery store.

this review is ONLY for the sushi place at the back. my daughter loves the green dragon roll, and that's the only thing i buy from them. good quality. polite staff.

Love all their produce, flowers, bakery items. I purchased roses from their floral section just a few days ago. They just bloomed and are gorgeous. Definitely worth the price.

This was my first time visiting this store and it is amazing!! Super fresh produce, huge variety of meats and a ton of good sales. The staff are also very friendly and cheerful. If I'm back in this neighborhood, I will definitely visit this story again.

Best food quality and service in the area. Some things are a little over priced, but worth the quality. They have good specials every week. Much prefer shopping here than anywhere else.

Reviewing on behalf of my pops. This grocery store has been his favorite to shop at for the freshest, best quality produce and foods for the last 15+ years. We recently moved out of Markham and he always remarks every now and then when grocery shopping that nothing will match the quality and atmosphere at Garden Basket.

Good place!

This is a unique super market in Markham. Not only it is competitive price wise and they have the exact same organic food like wholefood. On top of that, they have Italian imported pizza and ice cream. It always feels like the time I was on honeymoon in Italy when I have them at home.

Fresh vegetables and an amazing selection of organic and rare items. Its not pricey like some ppl say if you want good quality food.

I really like this place. The wide range of meat, fruit, and vegetables are always fresh. If you like to cook Italian this is the place to shop at. That's not to say they don't cater to other nationalities as well but this is my go to for Italian.

Prices are reasonable for the quality. Some canned and boxed goods are slightly higher than the big box stores but they do have a wide selection. Example, I needed some Knorr chicken stock mix. My wife couldn't find any where she shops but Garden Basket had it.

Staff are friendly and super helpful.

I'm not the main shopper in the household but if I'm asked to do the shopping then Garden Basket is where I go.

I was asking about a specific herbal tea that was not on the shelf and was asked to wait while they went in the back to ask. When he came back I was told that they don't normally carry that item but will include it on the order for the next delivery. Now that is service!
