Absolutely everyone is Saskatchewan should take advantage of the beautifully preserved history in this former opera house-turned bar ! Great food , great environment, awesome staff and such a cool establishment!! A definite must see to understand and enjoy such a beautiful place!

So many beautiful historic buildings in Arcola and Buddy’s is one of those places that will satisfy both your hunger pangs and visual cravings. Apparently this place was once an Opera House and with its fine wood details, high ceilings and multiple levels, you may find eating difficult as your eye catches something else interesting to look at. I spent a good portion of my knoshing on ribs and onion rings wandering around and taking in all the details. A super friendly place with a great local vibe. And that long bar is inviting to sit and have a cool drink of your favourite libation. Highly recommended!

The chicken burger and fries came out fresh and hot. The beef burger was juicy and well cooked. Definitely a highlight of the town and the lady serving us was wonderful. Must stop here even if passing by.

Buddy’s Pub in the High House. This bar is family friendly and has a great atmosphere. Beautifully designed and decorated, it was built in 1906 and was renovated into a pub and restaurant in the 1990’s. It boasts one of the longest bars in western Canada. Built of local brick, in a version of the Queen Anne style, the “High House” or “Opera House” is a registered historical site. The opera hall is located under a two story vaulted ceiling on the second floor and was also the first consolidated location for many of Arcola’s municipal services, including the town office, fire hall and jail.
It’s open year round with great food like the famous Buddy Burger and great steaks. Enjoy music, TV, pool and cards! Meet great people in a friendly atmosphere.
I’ve been here a few times and had my birthday here this year, it’s never a disappointment. I can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful historic pub in Arcola. One of the longest bars in Western Canada with super high ceilings and loads of character. Worth a look in this small town in rural Saskatchewan. Ronnie is an awesome​ host.

Stopped in a couple times recently for steak and I was totally pleased. I am not a big steak eater but I will always order it here from now on.
Tried it on a long shot and it was a bell ringer.
Highly suggest it and the appetizers.
The wings were excellent as well.
Service and staff we’re definitely on their game.
Walk up the steps and take door to the left and up the stairs and while you eat you will see the long bar on the north wall as well.

One of the best bars in all of Western Canada (and oldest to boot!). It was at one time an Opera house than later converted to a bar. The owner is super-friendly, and the pool tables are free. The atmosphere is always positive. I would recommend this place above most other places. If you want a great country bar, this is the place.

An awesome place with wonderful staff and a wild history! Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a bite to eat, a drink, and/or a really cool landmark with amazing history and just a few ghosts.

LOVE the owner. She is a amazing most nicest lady you could ever come across. And the bar is awesome! Love the old antiques inside. And food is soooo good!

This is such a beautiful bar. I remember coming here years ago on my first ever pub crawl with the staff from the Bar Bar.

Heritage building turned into a pub, very well done, lots of room, stage for live band events, cold beer, totally awesome
