Love everything about this place. The atmosphere is peaceful with great music. Staff are so friendly and helpful. And food is perfectly crafted and delicious.
Social more that crispy potatoes are exactly as they ought to be.

I have been to Marilynne's a few times now, and have left completely satisfied every time. The food is exceptional. I've tried many of their dishes and loved them all. They often have specials, and there regular menu items are worth going back for time after time. The service is top notch, and the atmosphere is super cozy. Tonight I had the pork chop and mushroom toast appetizer, both were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant!

An incredible restaurant serving locally sourced, perfectly executed; simple cuisine pleasures. The ambiance, the food, and the service were all top notch.

I have to highlight the shaved cured egg yolk and chicharron with the beef tartare; they really elevated the beef with multiple textures and flavours combining perfectly. Beets perfectly executed with amazing tomatoes. Both proteins, pork chop and half chicken; were cooked so delicately to a perfect internal temp while the outside had the perfect amount of sear. The chicken skin, my god; just serve it to me by the bowls. The pork chop was moist while the outside fat was rendered perfectly for easy consumption.

Ended it off with a carrot cake that your grandmother DEFINITELY isn’t beating, sorry. Perfectly balanced, not too sweet but the moist texture left you wanting more.

If you’re up here in northern Ontario make sure you check them out and support a business supporting farmers. I can’t wait to go back for breakfast and dinner service to try more stuff out.

We were there in between lunch and dinner so unfortunately too early for the dinner menu and evening's specials which sounded great (Crispy Octopus, Short Rib). We enjoyed the fried chicken sandwich and mushroom toast, both were delicious. I took home a piece of carrot cake, and while the flavour and icing were very good, the cake was a bit dry.

We visited Marilynne after a hike on the Bruce Trail and it was by far one of the top 3 brunches we’ve ever had. We ordered the eggs benny (but subbed the pulled pork for maple bacon), the breakfast skillet, and the strawberry french toast special. Everything was SO flavourful and well-seasoned. I absolutely loved the pickled fennel on top of my breakfast skillet, which added a nice punch of vinegar to cut the richness of the dish. The French toast was perfectly custardy and we heard another woman exclaim it was the best French toast she’s ever had in her life, and we’d have to agree. We grabbed an iced latte to go for our long drive home, and it was also delicious. Service was attentive and very friendly, and the eclectic décor in the restaurant made for a very cozy vibe. We will definitely be back!!

My wife and I love this place. Set in an old firehall, decorated with the personal antiques of the owners’ grandmother. Cosy patio with wooden boarding and kale and flowers planted around the top rail. And the food is DELICIOUS! Nice mix of flavourful options on the brunch menu, we have not yet made it for dinner. Big selection of wine and local beer/cider. Super friendly service (thanks, Corinna).

Rnjoyed a wonderful lunch recently. My favourite was the mushroom toast, while hubby enjoyed the skillet pancakes!

Perfect! We were passing through Markdale. Chose this place based on Google reviews. Old firehall. Excellent staff. Food was fantastic and served quickly. Breakfast sandwich. Fried egg, maple bacon, crispy taters and a small salad. The little things really impressed us. The patterned china! The silverware was SILVER. Ketchup in an egg cup on our plate. I took a picture... I don't take pictures while dining.The decor was fantastic. We would go here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent food and service. All ingredients fresh and local. Highly recommended. Beware that you only see "M" on the outside and not "Marilynne". Check if they're open before you head over as hours vary by day.

We love Marilynne. When they opened during the pandemic we would pop in for takeout, and when the dining room opened we were so glad to have a local spot to come in for dinner and brunch on the weekend (and on Mondays!). The food is delicious and the ingredients are thoughtfully sourced from as many local producers as possible. Our regular dinner menu favourites include the pork chop, steak frites, Caesar salad, and the chocolate mousse for dessert. Brunch favourites -- hands down the County eggs Benedict and the fried chicken sandwich. Look out for Chef Brandon's specials -- they are always worthwhile. They've got a great selection of local beers and lovely wines as well. We like sitting at the bar and chatting with the staff through dinner. I can't recommend this spot enough for a great evening meal with friends.

We've been several times and it is always outstanding. Tonight did not disappoint. Beef short rib was perfectly braised without being overcooked. Mashed potatoes were light as air and just divine. I appreciate the care they take to use local and seasonal ingredients. Will continue to be one of our favourite spots.

Discovered this gem while driving down Highway 10 in Markdale. We stopped in for a lunch and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is in the old fire station which gives it a historic feel. I had the French onion soup and the beet salad, both were excellent. My husband had the onion soup as well and the beef tartare. He thoroughly enjoyed them both as well. It is a small menu but offers a good variety and food is sourced from local farms and dairies. Combination of foods on the menu are unique and inventive. There are a variety of beers and wines offered as well. This is a restaurant that I would go out of my way to visit again.

I want to go back! Brunch on a Saturday and a birthday celebration... the perfect place. Creative food, yet hearty with a home style charm. Do the chocolate mousse!! 👌

Food was very good, fast, and flavourful. The burger was 3.5/5, a little too much bun and a smaller patty. My husband loved it, but it wasn’t for me. The fancy hamburger helper was 5/5, delicious, a little spicy, and hot out the kitchen.

Drinks and service were excellent. A great spot in the area for a good drink and dinner.

I had an amazing dining experience at Marylinne! This restaurant truly deserves 5 stars. Their commitment to sourcing local ingredients and their dedication to from-scratch cooking are evident in every bite. The flavors were exceptional, and the freshness of the dishes shone through. I can't recommend Marylinne enough for a delightful culinary journey.

Food was amazing, service was fantastic and the atmosphere is cozy. Thank you for accommodating our group for our Birthday Celebration. Can't wait to dine at Marilynne's again.

What a gem of a place! We hosted my parents 50th anniversary here last night and it was a complete hit. The food was spectacular. We did a passing appetizer service and every bite was equally fantastic. My family cant stop raving about the food today. The service was top notch. I couldnt have asked for a experience. Thank you Andrea! We will be back!
