Both my husband and I love this cafe. Their baked good are fantastics in taste and great in variety. The downside of it is that it makes us very difficult to choose (joking!)
There is a see-through bakery area. I was sitting next to it and really enjoyed watching the chef working on the dough.
The vibes are very chill there. We just love everything about this cafe.

Very cool place with authentic menu, my favourite from bakery is Beef burek and sausage rolls.
Food is always fresh and employees are kind.
It can be difficult to find parking spot on Hastings but overall very positive experience and my recommendation goes for this Cafe restaurant 👍🏼

Such a good place to get pastries and gelato.
One of the best almond croissants I’ve had.
The barista who is working there makes a really good coffee and very friendly to customers despite of long line they had! His name is Jonathan. He deserves 5 stars!!

The Gem of Burnaby Heights! My favourite neighbourhood bakery and cafe ❤ I live a block from here and come here often for a lil’ pastry pick-me-up. I still am amazed at their pastry/dessert selection any given time - croissants, supreme croissants (creme filled), danishes, swirls, muffins, cookies and a ton of cakes. Not to mention, a whole display of gelato 🍨

I also really like their spicy chicken sandwich if you want something savoury.

Staff are always sweet and there are tons of tables but it gets pretty packed on the weekends 😊

Parking is readily available on the side streets and the location is near the Hastings St @ Madison Ave bus stop.

Absolutely love this place! My favorite coffee shop so far! I love everything from the staff, ambiance, the coffee, and pastry. I have become a regular ever since I tried it for the first time when they recently opened last year or so.

Definitely recommend it for anyone who’s looking for a place to drink coffee and do work! This also used to be my study spot.

I have tried almost every pastry and drink too, and I have to say my favorite is the chocolate croissant which is the best I have ever eaten so far. Also the fresh fruit danish is really good! Both are not overly sweet too. As for drinks, I usually go for the Spanish latte.

Update: went again after a year since I moved! I’m glad they’re blooming in business as they deserve! I noticed they added more pastries to the menu, I’m sad when I got there their fresh fruit danish pastry was sold out :( everything is still as good as before!

UPDATE:

The Missus and I returned to have a very nice lunch at FDL. We had the spicy chicken sandwich, spinach & feta frittata, apricot brioche bun, cinnamon bun and Americano coffee. All delicious.

My Little Bro gave me a FDL gift card for Christmas and it was the best present ever. The Missus and I have visited FDL Cafe twice already in the New Year.

The staff is really friendly and the cafe has a nice vibe. You can watch thru glass windows to see their croissants being created. The coffee is freshly made and the pastries we have sampled were exquisite. So far, we have tried the walnut caramel roll, cinnamon bun, cheese bite and the spicy chicken bacon sandwich. So much more to try.

A big thumbs up for a visit.

Amazing treats and delicious coffee. Their mango gelato is my favourite.

Edit. I have now tried several items, including their pistachio filled croissant, a couple savory sandwiches and the spinach feta pita. Everything is delicious. Definitely a hidden gem worth a several visits

We tried their supreme chocolate crossiant with drip coffee. And the crossiant was excellent, lots of filling inside. Great atmosphere! Will be back again.

We had good time at this cozy cafe, I liked how they baked all the pastries in house and all were fresh. The carrot cake was great. The cream puff was quite different from what we tried before. They came with kinda frozen cream inside, and not very sweet. Coffees were ready very quickly and with nice arts on them. A place to go again

This is one of my favourite coffee shops in the neighbourhood. They have a variety of delicious treats, and they even have gelato for those warm, sunny days. I had their pistachio croissant, which was perfectly flaky and filled with rich pistachio cream. Highly recommend this local gem to anyone who loves a good, cozy spot with amazing treats.

My wife and I moved into the Burnaby Heights neighbourhood and love to go for coffee together. After trying a couple spots in the area we found Fior Di Latte and haven’t turned back! They’re coffee, pastry’s, lunch and Gelato are top tier - with a price point made for everyone! It’s also very refreshing walking into a business to be greeted by friendly and welcoming staff members. I would highly recommended this place! Ps. Fav pastry is the cinnamon swirl 😋

This was my first visit after they upgraded the store to a larger space and added more items to the menu. I went with my same classical jam, Cinnamon roll . But the rest of the items seemed delicious and mouthwatering.
The owner is always there with his welcoming greetings and friendly smile. Maybe this is one of the nicest elements of the warm atmosphere of this beautiful Cafe. Hopefully they keep on with their fair price, quality and welcoming atmosphere😉

Fantastic cafe to grab your craft coffee or a baked treat. Awesome gelato too, with many flavours to try. I really like that they use Detour beans — great Canadian roaster out of the east. I keep coming back here when I’m in the area!

One of my favorite cafes to study and chill. They have tons of plugs and also GREAT baked goods🥰 I tried their double baked hazelnut croissant. I think it’s good to share, eating it alone might be too filling. I think the hazelnut inside can be a little too sweet though. They do run out of baked goods in the afternoon, so make sure you get it fresh! :)

Visited this place for the first time and I enjoyed my stay here.

Service: everyone here seemed quite friendly and looked like they want to be working here. That says a lot about the business, management, and worker conditions. The lady who took my order didn't pressure me while I took my time to look at the various pastries on display.

Food: I ordered various things to go and had a latte and cinnamon swirl. The coffee was good but I really liked the cinnamon swirl-- the sugar chunks that came with the swirls had a good crunch, sweetness and butteriness (like a good kouign amann) without the usual bitterness I find in many caramelized pastries. The pastry also had a good mouth feel and texture which is the result of good lamination. Oh and it wasn't dry like many cafes out there!

Atmosphere: the place was clean, organized, quaint, and I really like their open concept kitchen-- you can see how clean the workspace is. The only downside was the construction noise inside the cafe. I wouldn't hold it against them since it's not a regular occurrence but the noise was quite loud-- hopefully they will be done soon so I can come back to a nice peaceful cafe.

Verdict: I'd definitely visit again. There are a few cafes near where I live but Im willing to drive all the way out here because everything I ate was solid. I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.

Yesterday was the first time I visited this cafe since I moved into the neighbourhood about a year ago & this place is amazing!

Atmosphere: I came by to study here with my boyfriend & the atmosphere was very chill: not crowded, relaxed jazz music, lighting not too bright, lots of seating options & different options for food & beverages. They had different menus like drinks, baked goods and gelato. It was too cold for gelato but I will try the gelato when it’s warm outside.

Service was great: the people were friendly, told me the caffeine free options for drinks & answered other questions I had. Definitely felt welcomed in this cafe & a great study spot for long periods of time!

Food: the desserts were really soft, fresh & delicious. My boyfriend got the Oreo cheesecake & we were shocked on how big the slice was, worth the price & preferred over other cheesecake places like Trees. I got the triple chocolate cake, soft like a mousse and a good match with the cheesecake. The blue matcha felt nice & homey; no caffeine, got oat milk & added vanilla with it. My boyfriend got the almond butter latte and it tasted great as well, not too sweet and perfect for the season.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a study spot, date or place to hangout. I’ll be coming back soon to try their other menu items💗👏🏼

I was caught by surprise the white peach sorbet pairing with pistachio gelato!

White peach flavor was intense with hint of tartness. The pistachio gelato was sweet and a touch of savory!

A scoop CA$6.50 and add second scoop for additional CA$2.00!

Ordered a cup of latte….. smooth and good coffee!

There are other offerings of pastry which seems very tempting but didn’t have the chance to try!

Location is very clean and layout is cozy and relaxing!

I absolutely love this place so much! Their pastries are amazing and unique. I had this one matcha & one strawberry filled circular croissant, as well as this mango filled croissant. They were super delicious! I always find myself coming back & have recommended my friends and family to go check this place out:)
