This trail marked our fourth summit conquest during our stay in Jasper, Alberta. The Sulphur Skyline hiking trail treated us to some of the most awe-inspiring panoramas we've encountered. It was indeed a challenging climb, spanning approximately 5 miles to reach the Skyline summit and back. The hike demanded about 5 hours of our time, but the vistas we encountered along the way made every step worthwhile.

A great hike that was a highlight of our late September weekend getaway to Jasper National Park. There is significant elevation gain on this hike, but it's very manageable if you pace yourself. If there is snow in the forecast, make sure you bring hiking poles. They kept us on our feet, even on the steep & slippery parts of the trail.

A busy yet beautiful hike. This is one of those hikes that you should do at least once. There aren't many hikes that are this rewarding for the "lower" amount of energy needed (when compared to hikes with similar views) Good hiking boots and poles are recommended as usual but the poles aren't necessary. It's a fairly steady uphill hike and you will want a moderate fitness level.

Great hike with lots of elevation. Took us approximately 4 hours to reach the summit and back to our car. We did not do the loop, but the summit itself was amazing. Definitely recommend to bring walking sticks since there is a lot of loose gravel at the top which makes it easy to lose your footing.

Beautiful hike. Switchbacks make for a manageable climb and views are epic. Must do hike if in Jasper area.

Moderate to Hard trail especially the last 400m. Well worth the climb to see 360 degree view. Once you are done with the hike, you can enjoy the hot spring down at the bottom of the mountain, and all your muscle pains are instantly gone! Be warn it is not for very young kids to go, be sure you wear proper clothing as the weather can change very quickly. The day we went up, at the bottom of the mountain the temperature was 17c, up at the mountain the temp was 12-13C with very strong wind. Be sure you wear a jacket or sweater (and not just T-shirt to hike up)! The whole trail takes approx 4 hours (+/- 40mins) to complete.

Steep hike worth it for amazing g views. Spectacular views from the summit! You really have to make it to the top for this trail to be worth while, as there aren't many views on the way up, but once there it's amazinging! As with most hikes I would recommend an early start, we got on the trail by 8 and shared the summit with 3 or 4 other groups, but must have passed 200 or so people headed up as we were going down.

It's a steady incline all the way up. Out and back for a total of 3.5 - 4 hours. This is well worth the trip. It's a glorious panoramic at the end. You see so many social media posts from the ridge. It's rated as hard but totally doable by anyone...you can move at whatever pace you feel comfortable. There really is no difficult spot until the very end which is a bit of a scramble to get to the top. Loved the reward!

Absolutely stunning half day hike that rewards you with spectacular 360 views. A little steep towards the end but really not as challenging as the guidebook makes it sound. Do go for a soak in Miette hot spring after the hike, best thing ever :)

Loved it!!! An amazing workout - it's straight up!!! Trail is well marked, a lot of people on the trail but not overcrowded. Beautiful wildflowers, spectacular views and mountains for days!!! Highly recommend. I should have soaked in the Hot Springs afterwards but it was so crowded.

This is a moderate to difficult hike - it's a very steady uphill trek for about 1.5-2 hours without any real views. If you are unlucky (like I was) there will be quite a few patches of mosquitoes as you go through the forested area - so you'll have to keep up a steady pace to keep them off of you or wear A LOT of bug spray. The views even before the final scramble are amazing. Ending by the Miette Hot Springs is great too as you can rest your body in the naturally warm water once you've finished.

Awesome hike, but it can be tough with snow and ice. You better be in good shape (when snowy). The view at the top is rewarding as always around Jasper.

The hot spring is welcome after the hike.

Great hike, steady elevation gain for good workout, awe-inspiring views, some of the most incredible rock formations ever witnessed, trail ends right at hot springs for perfect after hike relaxation

Beautiful, challenging hike that starts right at the Miette hotsprings. Steady climb through trees for the majority but you stll get views of the mountains. The Last 400m starts when you exit the treeline and start a steeper incline to the summit. This time it was sunny and no wind! A great hike that we repeat every five years or so.

One of the most beautiful trails in Jasper. Is an easy trail but the last km to the summit is a little hard. But it worthy for the amazing views. Back in the car park we saw a herd of mountain goats.

It's an easier hike of the hikes you can take to get to mountain top. It takes around 3-5hrs round trip depending on your health and pace. I've completed this hike about 10x with friends from out of province and also as a way to sweat out the alcohol from a weekend "camping"
Bring sunscreen, bear spray and bug spray. I've never run into wild life on this trail but i have seen a black bear near the parking lot and other hikers reported seeing wolves once.

Steep hike with beautiful views! Peek is windy, hold on to your cap and take a windbreaker. Did not see wildlife besides a crow

Definitely worth the uphill hike to the top. My wife and I have done many other great hikes around the world including the Na Pali coast, Waimea Canyon in Kauai, and various hikes in Iceland. This was one of our favorites. Arrive first thing in the morning (we had it all to ourselves before the masses arrived), bring water and a snack, and a jacket for the top (chilly!)

Wow. This hike is amazing, challenging, and gorgeous. We went in the beginning of October, so we expected snow up at the top, but didn’t expect it at the start. When we checked the trail report that morning it said the trail condition was good, but with snow at the top, so when we arrived we were surprised to see snow at the head of the trail. We decided to keep going anyways, trusting the trail report and seeing other hikers come out okay. This will forever be a special hike to me, since this was my first time ever hiking to the top of the mountain. There was snow all along the trail, but it got especially slippery and thick up at the top. A LOT of ice along the switchbacks near the top. Several times I slipped and, quite frankly, almost slipped off the side of the mountain. I was scared, but also determined to finish, since I knew the views from the top looked fabulous. Don’t do that! I was stupid for keeping going. I had no crampons or hiking sticks and I could have died. If you feel uncomfortable, turn back and get what you need to feel comfortable. The higher you go up, the harder it is. There is a part after the tree line that seems like it’s the top, but its not, there is a little bit more to go. That part is definitely a scramble. Take it slow and focus on your balance because doing it when it was icy had me terrified I was going to roll off the side of the mountain. (Again, I was stupid and no one should follow what I did!) But this hike was great. I’d say it took 3 hours to get up and an hour to get down. The ice helped in getting down, since we could pretty much slide down the top half of the mountain. The views were stunning on the way up to the top and at the actual top. Its exactly what I would picture the view from a top of a mountain would look like! Some people made snowmen along the way, which made us smile. Enjoy this hike, just be smart about it! Lots of people on the trail and they were all helping each other out. One guy had on nikes and he was slipping very very badly. A stranger he didn’t know lent him one of her walking sticks and held onto him the entire way down. If you need help, ask! No one will leave you! Worth every second of it.
