Top choice restaurant lives up to their restaurant name. After trying it once, it is one of my top choices to dine out to.

Everything we ordered that night was delicious: black chicken soup, fried intestines, black beans veggies, chicken, black bean eel, fried oysters and the (free) sweet tofu pudding.

Seriously, I have nothing bad to say. It was very flavorful and yet not oily as many other Cantonese restaurants. I HIGHLY recommend it but a reservation is strongly recommended!

Hong Kong street style comfort foods “wok hey” taste delicious! Only missing the hot cray pot one of the dishes instead of serving with plate.
Reminder: call a head for reservation and with your name and #, this place 2 hours waiting.

Hong Kong traditional cuisine which the portion is generous and the taste is excellent. Seafood dishes are not their best and their Cantonese dishes are very good. They offer free desserts after the meal. Appreciated.

Food was excellent. Portions were huge. The jumbo shrimp was really sweet. This place is very Hong Kong. They give you a big bowl of water to rinse your utensils. The service was really good. A note about tipping. They tips don’t go to the wait staff that, it goes to the restaurant. If you want to tip the wait staff you need to do it separately.

It's our first time dine in. I would suggest making reservation and be there early. It's very crowded and nonstop.

Dishes were, in general, big. Prices are fair. Service is good in the "Chinese restaurant" way if you know what I mean.

We, a group of 4, were going to order a dish of veggies on top of seafood and chicken, however, the waitress suggested not to order veggies as there's quite some vegetable from 2 other dishes. Turned out there's enough veggies and leftovers. Should we have ordered another dishes, it would be way too much. I said thank you to her and appreciated her suggestions.

It's a good first time dine-in experience, it's just starting.

One of my favourite places for Cantonese food. The service is great and most of the food I’ve ordered to date have not disappointed. The seafood itself is very fresh and the flavour profile is well balanced and not overly salty like most Cantonese restaurants. Also worth noting is that the shellfish here is cleaned very well, so you never have to worry about crunchy sand in your clams. Black bean sauce razor clams is a must try!

Top Choice is probably one of the best Cantonese restaurants I will ever go to; every dish is so well executed and cooked to perfection. Not one dish on the menu isn’t good but I recommend trying the fried oysters and salt and pepper squid, also their sweet and sour pork is very popular, probably because they fry it to perfection while the inside stays juicy. Note that every thing is priced slightly higher than your typical Cantonese restaurant but the portions are bigger and the food is tastier. Waitresses and waiters are nice and the service is typical, but don’t expect much as most people come here for the food. This place is the perfect restaurant to go to for a family gathering as their portions are very generous and I strongly recommend a reservation if you plan to come here during busy hours, but the times I didn’t make one we only waited max. 10 minutes. Only thing I wish they would do differently is change their plastic tableware to glass.

Top Choice is one of my top choices for tasty Cantonese dishes! The quality, especially of their seafood dishes, is great. The battered deep-fried oysters are my personal favourite. The prices aren’t bad and portions are generally large. Service is also good and friendly as far as Chinese restaurants go! The added plexiglass barriers to booths and even large tables enclosed into mini-rooms makes dining in feel more Covid safe too! Highly recommend visiting this great spot.

Line up on weekday night. Arrived around 8pm and waited around 15 mins to get seated. It’s very crowded and seating is not very comfortable.

They have daily specials seafood, ask your server about it. There’s also display next to the entrance, we ordered scallop which is one of the daily specials and it was very good. Fresh and cleaned very well.

We also got some razor clams and clams, both cooked in black bean paste, and both are cooked perfectly.

Free dessert (tofu flower) at the end and the texture is great. I’m too full to finish it.

Overall I’d say it’s worth a try and explore the menu and daily special items! Just be prepared that your table will get crowded and not seated very comfortably.

This place is very busy, so definitely reserve ahead. The wait is well worth it though. First and foremost the waitresses are polite and diligent. They provide you with really good recommendations, and they do not over sell you pricey dishes. The food is quick and delicious. If you're looking for "wok hei", this place hits the spot. Portions are great, if you are unsure if the food is enough, just ask the waitresses. Price wise it is fair. Our group of 14 spent around 40 dollars per person. One word of advice is that if you have a child, keep them in their seat. This place is really packed. The last thing you want is your children running around bumping into people. Overall we had an amazing experience, the waitress was funny and super diligent and would love to come here again.

This restaurant has all the attributes that I look for: value, great food, quick service. Don’t come here expecting Michelin service, your expectation is a bit of sass with a side of MSG. Every dish slaps. And don’t be put off by a line up, it moves quick and you can always call in advance for reservations.

Top Choice isn’t a grand Chinese restaurant but it serves authentic Chinese dishes that are good taste, good quality, good size and reasonable price. They did a major renovation just before the shutdown in 2020, they lost a lot of sales during Pandemic so I’m glad they are survive in this difficult time. The dining room is now divided quite nicely - the bigger tables all have its own room and they have booth seats with dividers to accommodate smaller parties.

Good quality of food, huge selection of choices, and decent portion size. I appreciate how they took the time and care to place the food in the takeout boxes. Highly recommend!

Biggest compliment I want to give is that their dishes are not overly salty, e.g. shrimp paste veggies are often super salty but their shrimp paste was aromatic and not excessively salty.

Lots of fresh shrimps in their fried rice...never seen other restaurants use medium-big shrimps for this dish.

Rare to find bird nest made with taro (mainly potatoes are used now) so we gave it a try. Disappointing due to the bird nest was very chunky and hard to chew vs crispy and light. Don't know what they added with the taro, maybe way too much flour. Next time I'll just order the plain three seafood combo stir fry without the bird nest.

Printed on their menu that diners may stay for 1.5 hours for their meal. Understand they want to do at least three rounds of customers per table. Didn't felt too rushed by the waiters although they were quick to remove our empty dishes.

Definitely recommend making a reservation.

Love their booth seating; there were many of them. Also love their use of transparent plexiglass between booth tables. A large bottle of disinfectant is also provided on each table. All these setup made me feel very much at ease dining there albeit being post-Covid life now (June 2023).

Newly renovated, divided tables for privacy & health safety, and food is even better!

I haven’t been here since COVID… after visiting last weekend for dinner with my family, I was impressed with the changes inside the restaurant. Service is good, and I feel their dishes have gotten even better!

Reserved for dinner. Really popular restaurant, pretty packed during dinner hours.

Come here quite often with my canto friends. Food are super delicious.

This is the only restaurant I go where they give you a bowl of hot water to wash your cups in the beginning 😂

Make sure you make your reservation! Other than that, good are great! See pictures. Huge portion!!! Free dessert!

I think I found my new favourite Chinese restaurant in the Markham area

this restaurant is packed even at 9 PM with people that recognize authentic and high-quality Cantonese food

You may have to get around the fact that their main menu in Chinese only. No biggie, the pictures are very helpful and so are the waitresses and the restaurant owner himself who is on scene

Unfortunately I was too busy devouring this hot food when it arrived, instead of taking proper pictures , but I will definitely return to this restaurant to take more pics to update this review

All the other restaurants in the area are only 1/3 full
…but this place has a lineup out the door

We had:

- mixed seafood in birds nest (basket made from fried and shaped taro strips, don’t worry, lol),
- tofu and mushrooms on Chinese greens,
- free range steamed chicken with ginger onion on the side,
- black bean stir fried clams
- two bowls of white rice

They are not cheap but the food quality is one of the best in Markham. Environment is better after renovation, seats are more comfortable and organize. Tofu dessert is complimentary, one of highlight for my family dinner.
