K-5 Mechanical

A family run business with old school values. I was on vacation and needed brake work done. Richard made room in the schedule for me, got everything fixed and made sure we were safe to travel. I cannot articulate how wonderful it is, to feel cared for and safe; especially as a single woman travelling with a child. If I ever break down, I sure hope it’s there 😂 I may have to plan vacation dates around my vehicle servicing schedule 😂

Fantastic experience!! We are travelling through town, and just a couple days prior to Christmas ... these guys fit us in and got our car fixed same day! Super friendly service too. We were very relieved to not have our travelling plans impacted too much. So grateful. Would highly recommend!

TLDR:
10/10 would recommend this shop. I met Richard. He had tons of patience. He was humorous and generous. From the way he treated a stranger stranded on the road from 3 hours away from home, I would trust this man and bring my vehicle to K-5 for any kinds of work they provide if I was living here.

I was riding from calgary to radium. I had a flat tire on my motorcycle at 15 minutes from his shop. Got towed to K-5. It's a auto service shop. But Richard still offered me help cause he knew I was stranded in here. I was supposed to wait 4-5 days in here until they got a new tire and put it on my bike.

With some miracle and coincidence, he somehow had a spare single motorcycle tire in the shop which was the exact same size as my rim. He was super nice and helpful. He treated us beer. He mounted the new tire. He let us use his tools to put the new wheel on my bike. And he just only charged my the price of the tire. He refused to take our money for the time of labor he did. I cannot be more grateful. We're coming back for you next time we visit here and repay the favor you did it for us!

Second time they’ve fixed a tire on our 35’ Winnebago motor home. Always have what we need in stock. They get the job done fast and efficiently. No appointment needed. Thanks K5 for keeping our vacation amazing and safe! Very professional! First place we call when we need tire help :)

These guys are legends! Due to my incompetence, I set off on a big road trip with a set of overdue tires. I pulled into K-5 and plead my case. They managed to squeeze me in after a few hours. Customer service is top notch and price was good. Would highly recommend!

Richard and his team were fantastic. Our SUV water pump failed in the middle of our vacation and they were able to make things work and repair the vehicle prior to our scheduled departure back home. We very much appreciated their empathy towards us and our situation. Would highly recommend.

After no success with several other auto repair shops in the Valley, Richard and Fred squeezed me in later in the day and did a fix on the spot. Awesome customer service and knowledge. Great mechanics. Highly recommended.

The owner is an embodiment of buddha, I kid you not.

Me and my two boys ended up in his shop because one brother got a flat tire. On a Saturday afternoon. Everything closed.

He was hanging out in his shop outside of work hours. Not only he was willing to let us park the bike in the shop, order the tire and get it done as soon as tire arrived (Thursday, likely)... no no...

He actually pulled a spare tire out of... somewhere, don't ask me where - its the only motorcycle tire in 100km area.. and it was a match.

Then, he told us we should just use his tools and garage to change the tire.
Now me and by boys have no clue about changing motorcycle tires, so he hooked us up with his laptop, where we watched few videos, he gave us all the tools, let us use his crane... all the while using his 40y expertise to guide us and ask the right questions that'd make us realize we're about to do something real dumb.
I'm slow even on a good day, so it took me about 40 minutes to realize we've just been turned into temporary apprentices, and he's doing one hell of a job teaching us bike mechanics 101.

He pulled out few beers, cracked jokes with us, talked about life, bikes and cars, and after 3h - he refused to charge for anything except the tire. Refused to take any money as a tip and only wanted "good karma".

Honestly man, I didn't know people like these exist today. Our lil' group swore we're gonna come back to Invermere simply to take this guy out, get him all the BBQ and drinks he can eat and drink.

Fantastic guy, decades of experience, and top notch human being.

I'm gonna drive my Camaro over from Calgary when its time to do an engine swap simply because I want this man to work on it.

I recently visited K-5 for an out of province insurance inspection and they were amazing!! Great, friendly customer service and amazing rates! Even though I needed this inspection last minute, they were able to squeeze me into their busy day and were super nice about it! They did a thorough inspection of my car and gave me great pointers on what to do next. Even drove me to a local coffee shop while I waited for the work to be done. Super thankful for this reliable and kind local auto shop! I'll be calling these guys again! I'd recommend them to anyone, whether you're passing through or living locally in the area. If you are in the area and need a mechanic I HIGHLY recommend K-5. They went above and beyond what we could have hoped for when our car decided to have problems 2 days before heading back home. I called around as we needed parts and K-5 managed to fit us in and I couldn’t be happier it was them. Our car was in the right place, we enjoyed the rest of our vacation and the car was ready for when we had to leave. Of course wasn’t an easy fix and they put the hours in to make sure we would make it back home. Couldn’t rave more about them!

Amazing service! Would recommend 100% they saved me more than once, fixed my car that I use for my business in one day! They are awesome 👍

Took my truck to Canadian Tire because I had a leak, they looked at it, took a picture and told me I had a leak in the transmission line. They couldn't fix the leak or top up my transmission fluid , I had to take it to a Dealer !! Well there are no dealers here and it would take 2 trips at least to repair it. I called these guys, they told me not to worry, made room for me the next morning , Christmas Eve Day, fixed it, topped up the fluid and dropped it off at my place of employment for less then it would have cost me in gas to go to a dealer.

On our way to Fairmount hot springs for a holiday our check engine light came on .We looked online and found K-5 Mechanical with very good ratings .I gave them a call explaining out situation and how long we were at the resort for , he didn't have any openings but would fit us in .They car fixed in time for us to go home after our holiday at a fair price and even picked us up at the Sobeys bus stop to grab the car . This shop is a 5 stair plus ,they really saved us .

Small town living but big city professionalism! If you need auto repair anywhere in the Columbia valley you better make sure you go to K-5 Mechanical!! My car broke down in the middle of summer and nobody would take a look at it for up to 2 weeks :O ! K-5 however was courteous, generous and understanding enough to know that I couldn't drive home (to Victoria) unless I had a car fixed. They managed to take me in upon learning this and despite having a fully stocked schedule worked overtime to ensure that I had an operating vehicle again. I can't guarantee they will be able to do this for anyone but the customer service they provided was phenomenal and in no way can be understated! In addition to that, they provided fantastic rates, and went above and beyond to ensure that other areas of my vehicle were operating in tip top shape. Richard and the team were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, trustworthy and more than capable to handle anything that comes their way. Thanks again K-5, I'll be sending everybody I know their way!

These guys are great! I had a very simple fix, but they fit me into their busy day and I was out of there within 10 minutes. Really friendly and community oriented.

Great service! Was here on vacation and got a flat tire. The guy here with Integra tire got me in really quick and even cut off my lugnut key for me to get the tire off. Did a permanent patch and fixed a previous patch done by a different garage that was done poorly. Got our family back home safe on short notice! Highly recommend!

My girlfriend, dog and I are on a trip around BC and Alberta in our 1977 Chevy van and noticed some troubles as soon as we left Fairmont Hot Springs so we found the closes mechanic and we were so lucky it was K-5. We called to see if they would be able to help and Richard said that he could make some time for us no problem so we drove down and in less then 2 hours and for a reasonable price we were back on the road and have had no problems at all in the days since.

Seriously great service. They were super busy but helped us immediately with flat tire, took 20 minutes. Richard was super friendly, suggested a great place to eat and drove us there while our car was being worked on. I only wish we had this level of service in the 'big city:.

Called in the morning before we left to make sure they could accommodate us and our flat tire. Spoke with Rich over the phone, very nice and said they could squeeze us in. They were able to repair our tire and get it back on our car within 1.5 hours. They encouraged us to come back before we traveled back to the States so they could double check the lugnuts. Very friendly, professional and honest. Very economical for us. Highly recommend.
