Columbia Cycle & Ski

I find this place top notch and the people there are even better. After skiing on the same pair of skis for a very long time Matt helped me get on some new ones and certainly more modern. I rented a set of skis for 3 days each day trying a different length. Matt was spot on the first day with the skis I bought. The took the price of the ski rental off the new set of skis. I'm from Alberta and even though I paid PST I would still go back to this shop! 5 star all the the way.

Update. July 17 2019.

This shop is the best. I went there first thing in the morning with a used DH bike I bought the day before that had brake issues and I was hoping to head to panorama the same day. Matt was there and after he had set the store up for the day helped to get my bike up and running for the day in less than an hour! Two brake levers changed and new pads for the brakes!

I can't say enough great things about this shop! They will always have my business!

My friend broke her derailleur and the tech was able to assess same day. He then arranged for us to get the part and service at another local sop the next day. Very friendly and helpful.

I was looking for a pair of boots for my child, fitting kids is difficult! Scott did a great job fitting up ski boots for my 9 year old. Certainly plan on using them for my ski needs in the future.

We have been dealing with this shop now for the past 14 years. We run road, XC and downhill bikes including the BC Cup DH Circuit. We have put a lot of pressure on this shop over the years and have always received great service and technical help. No problem with them ordering what we need for parts on a quick turn around.
Have sourced all our skis and boots through Columbia as well as they carry solid mid to high end equipment. Have been skiing now for 50 years and Scott the owner by far is the best boot fitter I have come across.
Merchandise and Service costs are comparable to Calgary. Turnaround on fixing equipment by far the best.

Rented downhill ski package for a few days. Really great people. Tuned out equipment for the weather and when the ski hill was closed because of the cold they refunded the rentals the day I couldn’t ski without asking . Highly recommended.

I've had 2 semi-serious bike issues over the past few years in Invermere, and these guys always manage to squeeze me in and do an amazing job! Today, Scott said he could help me out with a brake issue, so i left the bike overnight. He called me 20 minutes later saying it was done! (He even cleaned the pads and rotor cause they were squeeky!)

Great staff, great owner, amazing clothing selection too! IMO.

After searching high and low in Calgary for a hardtail 27.5+ for my wife I connected with Matt and he took the time over the phone to go through his options. It turns out he had the perfect bike and upon arriving at the shop he was busy with multiple clients but yet had time to look after us. He trimmed the bars, cut the seat post, set the front forks and gave us a great deal. Needless to say this was the 2nd bike we bought from Columbia Cycle and will probably not be the last.

The service was fantastic, the way a bike shop should be, and was very refreshing after experiencing the opposite in Calgary.

I highly recommend Columbia Cycle & Ski to anyone looking for quality service and quality bikes. Also for those who don't know, especially my fellow Albertans, PST does not apply to bikes and gear so go check them out.

Friendly, helpful staff. We rented fat tire bikes and they were helpful with setting them up for us and making sure we wore helmets. Safety first! The bikes were top notch, better than we were expecting for rentals.

Do you need excellent service and selection? This is where to go!!! What an amazing find to stumble upon in the winter. Scott (owner) has to be one of the most informative and patient man I've met to help me get suited with a new pair of ski boots, after suffering for years with pain and discomfort. Now I'm ready to hit the slopes tomorrow! Pics to follow!! Not only did he answer all my questions and concerns but he gave me tips and info that NO OTHER ski shop has ever done. He is backed up by an outstanding team (shout to Jeff) and no wonder it is the best in the west! Check them out, you will not be disappointed. PS.....I'm sending my husband in next year to renew his gear!

Columbia cycle and ski is always willing to go that extra mile for the customer. Knowledgeable staff provide great service and it is pleasure to work with. Matt and Scott are great bike mechanics who can fix your bikes and get you back on the trails in no time. Highly recommend this place!

The bikes were great, staff was excellent! We had a breakdown and Scott drove out promptly and fixed chain along the road. We would definitely recommend them!

I visited this store last night just before closing. Id just arrived in radium and realized I'd forgotten my swim shorts for the hot springs. I think i walked in at 5:53 and the store closed at 6 ( i did notice 1 guy behind the desk discreetly look at his watch and i knew they were getting ready to finish up and close the store).
Nevertheless the 2 ladies working the front desk were very friendly and made sure id found where my size of shorts were and pointed out where the changerooms were. I quickly tried on 3 pairs of shorts and selected one and brought all to the front desk. Both ladies were very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Id apologized for coming in so close to closing and they cheerfully assured me it was no problem and helped me with my final selection and purchase. They cheerfully engaged my young daughter as we left as well. So this review is for the staff who made us feel welcome and as though we were not imposing by coming in so late.
I have however shopped here in the past multiple times as well. They probably have the best selection of clothing in town id say. They can be a touch on the pricey side ive found, although ive also found some smokin' great deals there at an end of season sale.
Great little store to pick up some winter or summer gear and I'm 99% sure they do rentals there as well. Staff all seemed great this last visit.

I'm from Alberta and was on a 10 day downhill mountain bike trip covering Fernie, Panorama, and Kicking Horse. The day before my trip I picked up my brand new bike from my local shop; the problem was they ordered the wrong coil spring for the rest shock. As such I started my trip with the rear shock not set up for me. I called dozens of bike shops in Calgary, Lethbridge, Fernie, Invermere, Kicking Horse and Whistler to find spring with no luck. I was fortunate enough to get a hold of Aaron Clark at Columbia Cycle in Invermere and he went above and beyond helping me set my bike up for my trip. He helped me called bike shops and suppliers from across Canada and finally track down a spring and have it shipped ASAP to the shop. In order to enjoy riding while I waited for the spring to show up he helped set me up with a temporary solution to get out for some runs with my son. All of the staff and the owner Scott were extremely helpful and went the extra mile for us. I would recommend this shop to my friends and will be back to give them more business.

Great shop. Great people. Got a problem with my kingpin bindings bought somewhere else. They contacted Marker and fixed them for free in less than one hour. Great service! Thank you.

Went in there this past Saturday for a cassette issue and the guys had me back up an running within an hour and were super nice to deal with. I would definitely go back if I had another mechanical issue or needed to pick up some parts while riding those rad trails out in Invy! Thanks guys.

I took my skis in to get set up and waxed. The service was perfect and the staff were great as always!

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They have a well stocked seasonal area, whether it be for skiing in winter or cycling in the summer. They also have lots of fashionable clothing with competitive pricing.

Fantastic service. Really helped me out to fix my bike. Patiently checked my tires and got me set for the rest of my journey.

Bought XCountry skis and boots here from Justin and the service, knowledge and patience he showed us was truly Awesome!!
