Great front country camping spot not too far off-the-beaten path. Be prepared for 20 miles or so of gravel road coming SW from Sundre. I was there in mid-August from Monday to Thursday. The place was deserted except for about 3 sets of campers (in 50 possible spots). Also, 4 wild horses just hung around as well. They were quite chill and I enjoyed having them nearby for company. They do leave loads of road apples everywhere, so watch where you step! FYI, no hookups (although there are many sites with pull-throughs/footprints to accommodate large trailers). Looks like it was formerly owned by a company who charged a fee per night, but now owned and operated by FOESA, so for a $30 membership for a Jan-Dec membership at their website, you can camp there as much as you want - FCFS. Super cheap compared to other campgrounds around there, so I recommend paying to support them. I was checked for valid membership while I was there. There seems to be a lot of clearing of dead wood going on, so while the Alberta Park's website indicates no wood supply, there was plenty when I was there. A small chainsaw/log splitter/axe would be useful to take. Some great walks around there, and I assume lots of folks bring their ATVs with all of the surrounding trails. There is some noise pollution from that, but not a big deal if you are prepared for it. The squirrels also have a 6:15 wake up call all ready for you in the morning so you don't sleep away the whole day ;) Looks like the fishing might be promising as well. Go enjoy some great country in Clearwater County!

Absolutely beautiful! Lots of natural trails and tons of moss (vs the typical gravel sites we end up with)
Great site, well separated, lots of privacy and the booking line is amazing!
I would 10/10 recommend and say its totally worth the drive 💕
Also bonus? Free firewood and locked gate so only other campers come in!

Visited in April / May of 2016 for a camping trip and loved it! It is a beautiful quiet spot, and the surrounding vistas are simply spectacular. Facilities are primitive (drop toilets). Our camping fee included firewood, which was a bonus, but take a hatchet! It was a little damp... I look forward to visiting again soon!

Beautiful and quiet. Very underused, long gravel road to get here though. Only issue is the ground is covered in pine needles, so watch your pets paws if you have any and don't wear sandals. Love the free firewood. Nice little ice cream shop down the road with foot hills creamery ice cream!
