Loved everything about Sweet Retreat! Relaxing, friendly people, great gift shop/store, the owners Jeff and Shari are very friendly and caring. The cabins are cabins as they should be-Rustic, Authentic, and fun!! It’s Sugar Island!!!Unplug from the outside world and relax!! Fishing was awesome too!!!If you’re up for an adventure-this is the place to go!!!Thanks! Patty, Jason, Yula, Shelly, Scott and of course Reese!!!

We absolutely loved our week long stay at the Sweet Retreat, SI and will be going back again!

Our family of four was looking for a vacation destination where we could escape from our busy lifestyle and find opportunities to make new memories while exploring nature together. Mission accomplished at Sweet Retreat and Sugar Island!

There is so much we enjoyed during our stay, but it all starts with the wonderful hospitality of owners, Jeff and Shari. Both are so personable and always available for any and all of our needs. They really cared about us and our experience.

We stayed in the Wilson Klub cabin which offered a "rustic" feel to our get-away, yet had all the modern amenities for a very "non-rustic" family.

Our kids loved playing in the water, chasing frogs, roasting smores on the camp fires at night, playing yard games, exploring different parts of the island, watching 1,000 foot ships travel along the river to the Sault Ste. Marie locks, hanging out in the cabin and spending a lot of time at the south island store that is well equipped with lots of snacks.

In addition to all of this, my wife and I would highly recommend getting up to watch the beautiful sun rise that come up every morning!

The Middlesteads are fantastic hosts and we enjoyed the peaceful, quiet location. Looking forward to seeing you again! Also close to the mainland with opportunities to view the ships coming through the locks.

Amazing place. Hospitality was second to none and made our entire trip even better. The cabins had everything we needed and were super comfortable! Thank you for the awesome experience!

Our cabin was dirty. The three bedroom we had was a cubby hole with no bed frame. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Completely overpriced. No hot water. We didn’t stay the third night.
