Red Cap Restaurant and Motel

My girls and I always love coming “ down home” and heading to the red cap! Everything is amazing there from the food, service , and atmosphere. The haddock With lobster sauce is the bomb!

Had dinner with family here and we all left very happy. I had the signature plate which I highly recommend. Others had the fish cakes, lobster roll, lobster club and the combo plate and plates were cleaned. The location is a bit out of the way but Pubnico is a beautiful fishing town. Service was good, a bit slow taking our orders but the food came quickly after that. I will be back and I will probably order the same dish, it was that good.

A diamond in the rough. There's not many choices for restaurants in the Pubnico area of Nova Scotia during the early spring time. I'm glad my cousins recommended this spot for lunch My seafood was chowder was very tasty. And the homemade desert options were off the charts. I can't wait to make another visit and taste the other things on the menu.

Clams and twice baked potato.
Wow everything was hot and lots of.

Went today around 1.30 for lunch. They were out of the first two things I wanted, which was ok as they were popular items and we were a little late for lunch. I had the haddock fish cakes, delicious and everyone else's meals were great. The staff were very friendly. I will be back for sure.

Great food, friendly service. Wife had the Haddock and lobster sauce, their special, and it was excellent.
Blueberry pie for dessert was fresh and delicious.
Full marks.

The food is so yummy. We ate here 2 times while visiting the area. Had the lobster club which was great and I chose a twice baked potatoes as my side which was ok. Then had soup of the day tomato cream. Best soup i have had in a long time. And tried the special which was a pork schnitzel with sage cream. Very Good!
Good service, slowed a bit on one visit. But we knew it was because the kitchen was trying to get out food for a table of 20.

The broiled haddock with creamed lobster sauce is famous for a reason.

It's just a motel but is the cleanest and most modern motel I have ever been to. The room was spotless, the bathroom updated and clean and the beds very comfortable. There is a large sized mini fridge in the room and lots of channels on the tv. Highly recommend this place, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A+

We ate in the restaurant and the food is incredible, there is a reason the lobster sauce is touted as t world famous, because it is unbelievably delicious. We also had pizza and it was one of the best I have ever eaten. Stay and eat at the Red Cap, you will not be disappointed.

This place has the best food around and the atmosphere is just terrific. Their specialty is Haddock with Lobster Sauce! To die for!! Everything on the menu is good and the waitresses are always super friendly and informative. They have a " no corking fee " meaning you can bring in a bottle of your favourite wine and they do not charge for serving it for you.

Nice little motel with just 6 rooms. Extremely clean, comfortable bed, everything in good working order, and even a bit of an ocean view. We had the "Fish with Lobster Sauce" at the attached restaurant and it was fabulous!! We are both very happy with the room and restaurant, and would recommended it to anyone.

This is a great place to eat . I booked 3 rooms and we all ate breakfast lunch and supper . We were all very pleased with friendly atmosphere and service. I personally had the haddock with mushroom sauce and the next time I tried the haddock with the lobster sauce . They were both sooo good I can't wait to go back .
If you are in the area don't miss eating here .

Big Digby Scallops, lobster roll comes with lots of lobster, haddock filets very generous portion and tasteful,and haddock burger awesome. Place packed within a few minutes after we arrived at 4:30. Very cozy place. Not rushed out. Nice french server!!!!

Seafood chowder is phenomenal and it’s the only item I ever order from here. I give it a 9/10. It would get a 10/10 but it’s served way too hot. There’s a certain temperature food should be served, and boil your mouth off is not that temperature.

Mum and I tried the rappie pie and the broiled haddock in the lobster sauce. YUM!! It was my first rappie pie and my mother hadnt had it for about 30 years. It was absolutely delicious! We shared thw two dishes and am I ever glad we did. The haddock in lobster sauce was the best food I have ever eaten. It is very creamy and absolutely delicious. The haddock is perfectly broiled and goes along with the sauce just wonderfully. I didnt think I would like it since im not a huge fish fan and I was hesitant on the lobster sauce, but I promise you will not regret it! We were travelling along then decided we had to go back for dinner! We both had the haddock in lobster sauce again. Lol couldnt help it. We also had dessert both times. We tried the strawberry shortcake which was our favourite as well as coconut cream pie and the chocolate lava cake which were also amazing! The service was lovely and the people were all nice. Would definitely recommend!!

Amazing service and AMAZING FOOD! They bring you out fresh hot biscuits while you wait for you food and the serving sizes are generous. The place has an amazing rustic atmosphere
