High River General Hospital

This is for the day surgery ward at the second floor.

Went in for day surgery today and the staff and doctor was wonderful. The nurses and help nurse were so kind and really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The room is clean and bright (big windows). The building is old but looks like the machine/equipment's are new or well kept (even in the OR room). If I have a day surgery again, and have the option to have done at High River Hospital, I will go there again.

I often wonder if small town hospital or big city hospital are comparable? Well, unfortunately/fortunately I found out. My ER Doctor Dr. Slusar was exceptional. A gentleman with a quiet strength and patient with questions or concerns. The nursing staff on the 3rd were excellent and gave me outstanding help and kindness and whatever they are paid is not enough. My physio team of Hilary, Nicole and Justin were unrelenting to ensure i was strong enough and it was safe enough for me to come home. After this experience I am sure big city hospitals are great, but what i experienced in High River was incomparable. I would not hesitate to recommend our hospital. We are so lucky to have this quality of care in our Town. Dorothy Davidson

Super friendly, efficient and it’s conscious sedation so you’re not zonked for 3 days. Thanks to Dr Moffat and all the endoscopy and surgical staff!

Spent a few hours there the last few days and have to say that this group of people are amazing. I started at Tom Baker and switched to High River Cancer Centre for ease of access from where I live. The group of nurses here are high energy, friendly, knowledgeable, caring, supportive and just fun to be around. I look forward to the next 5 months of chemotherapy with this amazing group of health care workers. Oh yeah, I should say that I'm new to the province and feel so welcomed in this great hospital and Cancer Centre. I should also mention that I had a sweet volunteer serve me a great soup and sandwich lunch too.

Great experience. I was there today for my left eye cataract surgery.
I was so impressed by courteous and professional services rendered by pre-op staff, op room nurses and the post surgery staff. Dr.Lekhi performed my surgery without any pain or slightest inconvenience. I also enjoyed the mild musoc at the backgrpund in the operayion ropm. My sincere appreciations and thanks to all of you medical team!

I had my surgery Jan 27, 2022 and the staff were spectacular. Absolutely spectacular. Nan (Ellen) specifically, the nursing staff, and the surgery staff there (12:00-17:00) were so so amazing. Every step of the way, they were there for me. Every time I got emotional, and every time I needed someone, they were there. I cannot express how much I appreciate them. I really hope they get to see this.

This hospital treated my Mom so well!! Can not thank the staff enough! Emergency room a bit slow, but overall very much appreciate all the care. Palliative care for her was exceptional. Thank you.

It's a hospital. I don't expect a red carpet if I skin my knee lol. Thanks for being there for the important stuff. !

Amazing staff. Went in due to being really ill and was seen immediately. They ran a lot of tests to ensure I was alright before letting me go. I was also encouraged to come back if I felt I needed to for any reason when I have been told by other hospitals in the past that i’m fine and to go home when seriously ill. They took me seriously, addressed concerns, and were beyond helpful.

Went in for day surgery and the staff was wonderful. I am terrified of needles and when I had my iv put in the nurses were so kind and really went above and beyond to help me get through it. You’re in good hands here.

Went in for day surgery yesterday. Melissa and Maryjeane did an awesome job looking after me before and after surgery. They made a somewhat stressful situation way more relaxing. The OR people were also great. Unfortunately I don't recall all of their names. Dr. Sutherland and the Anesthesiologist, whose name I can't remember explained to me in detail about what their procedure was going to be before and during surgery. Also what to expect symptoms to be like afterwards. They were busy in OR as I Wasn't the Only Person they were looking after. Very professional and compasionate.

I was there in April 2017 for day surgery. The staff was extremely attentive and caring and helpful and kind. I can only say good things. Thank you. They were on time. While I did not see the emergency lineup, it did not appear busy. There were magazines and a television and a comfortable waiting area.

My nurse Caitlin was really nice as was Wanda. My doc took extra precautions given my injury and is having me stay. I’m glad they’re taking things seriously rather than being dismissive which I have dealt with before. Thanks for the care HRH

Great place the few unfortunate times I've had to go in for a real emergency. Sorry, this isn't your family doctor. Unless you are actually in distress, you're gonna wait, as they're taking care of people in actual distress before your sore knee or minor infection. Get over yourselves people, you aren't special...

It’s a great hospital. I want to thank Dr M.Kwan, the whole team who did my surgery and the people who took care of me before and after.

Good place for day surgery when Calgary wait time is long. Very professional staff at all stages of the process.

I love this hospital! Recently delivered here and it was an amazing experience. Great doctors and nurses very caring. Dietary staff was very good on food preferences also.

Everything and all the staff doctors, nurses and all other staff members was on the top, nice, friendly and with high professionalism. Thanks for the great service.
