We came to try some super fresh bagels, we weren’t disappointed, we bought a few extra flavours to try later throughout the day.

The sesame and all seasoned were the classic ones we enjoyed the most. The blueberry and maple apple were also great and flavourful.

We came back before we returned home and purchased a dozen various flavours to take back home with us.

Remember it’s cash only so make sure you have it otherwise you won’t get served.

While the odd experience of waiting outside in line may initially catch you off guard at St. Viateur Bagel, it swiftly transforms into an anticipation that's entirely worth the wait. The aroma wafting from the bakery builds excitement, and once inside, the fresh, delectable bagels make the outdoor wait seem like a small price to pay for such culinary delight. The oddity of the experience adds a unique charm to the overall visit, making it a memorable and worthwhile adventure for bagel enthusiasts.

Upon reviewing the menu, I noticed that the prices had increased .
the bagel I had was the most delicious I've ever tasted. The staff was exceptionally friendly. During the time I went back to get my wallet (as they only accepted cash), they engaged in a pleasant conversation with my sister, who had come from Japan.
One of staff gave me a 1bagel for service!;). It was a delightful and friendly experience. They open early in the morning, making it convenient for tourists. I parked in the vicinity, and overall, it was a positive and enjoyable visit🩵

Love love love going to st viateur! I always get at least 10 bagels so i can freeze them and warm them up later. They taste and feel the same even after being frozen. Definitely recommend and as it closes at midnight, you could go anytime when you have a bagel craving!

Had 2 amazing bagels at St Viateur bagel which had been open for 65 years. You can watch the making of the bagels standing in line. We had Sea Salt Rosemary Bagel and Caramel Butterscotch which were both delicious and tasty. Highly recommend.

Best bagels we have ever tasted. Upon hearing that I was immediately going to the airport and flying half way across the world the wonderful staff repackaged my bagels to better survive the journey. They were perfect. I've never seen 24 bagels eaten so quickly.

St-Viateur Bagel is an iconic and beloved bagel bakery located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It's one of the oldest and most renowned bagel shops in the city. It's a symbol of Montreal's rich and diverse food scene.

Best bagel here is the traditional sesame seed bagel that I had and it is the most popular too. St-Viateur offers a variety of flavors including poppy seed, whole wheat, cinnamon raisin, and more. They also have specialty options like rosemary sea salt and multigrain.

This is an integral part of Montreal's culinary landscape, known for producing some of the best bagels in the world. It's a must-visit destination for bagel enthusiasts and food lovers alike.

The best authentic Montreal bagels. One will always find fresh and warm, sometimes piping hot bagels right out of the wood burning oven. Whether for breakfast, lunch always a tasty treat to have. The staff is ever so friendly too.

St-Viateur Bagel is an iconic / must visit bagel bakery in Montreal. This is one of the oldest bagel shops in the city. Their most popular bagel is the sesame seed (plain) bagel but we also tried the whole wheat version and it didn’t disappoint.

This place really needs no introduction but I will leave my review regardless. It’s a historic bagel establishment that makes delicious hand made bagels all day.

As soon as you walk in, you can see its history plastered in the walls and feel how proud everyone is to be working there.

They don’t just sell bagels! They sell anything from t-shirts and hats, to seasonings and spreads.

The only gripe that I have is that it’s cash only. They do have an atm in the shop but they charge $3 service fee so I recommend that you come prepared!

I personally really enjoyed the blueberry and the classic poppy seed bagels.

We are visiting from Vancouver and we found this bakery via bloggers and youtubers so we were so pumped to try. Just a warning this location is just the bakery and there's one cafe not far from here that serves bagel sandwiches. We didn't know that 😀 So we got 6 dozens of sesame, cinnamon and raisin, blueberry and butterscotch bagels to bring home to Vancouver for ourselves and for friends. We tried all the flavors we bought and with smoker salmon and cream cheese, the sesame bagel goes perfectly with it. The rest, you can eat on its own 😊 They are dense, sweet, and you can taste the love and care rendered on each bagel. It's not a trend hyped by influencers, but St.Viateur is the #1 bagel. Period.

The best bagels we had in Montreal! We tried this location on a food and localised tour and it was a great recommendation from our tour guide! The line was super long and this store allows your guides to head in, grab what they need and go, and so we had a swift and great experience with this bagel store! I would recommend to those wanting to explore local tastes!

Great place for fresh bagels. Service was amazing - we had been looking to get a sandwich but this location doesn’t serve them. However they have single serving spreads to purchase and a small table at the front to make your own sandwich. We got 1/2 dozen assortment. Price was affordable for Montreal and a famous bagel shop.

I grew up in NY where bagels were a staple and competition to be the best bagel shop was fierce. Bagels were in our DNA (my father literally grew up in a Jewish deli in Brooklyn in the 20s & 30s) and an essential component of our weekend brunches, family gatherings, celebrations, and daily life. But I have to say: These bagels are the VERY BEST I’ve had in decades!!! They’re the real deal/ legit bagel goodness. I’m obsessed with having these again! So so fantastic! Can’t wait to go back!!

Best bagel I've ever had!
I went there around noon on Friday, but there was no line and I got it right away.
I got sesame, onion, rosemary & salt, blueberry and caramel. I especially liked the sesame and rosemary & salt. My friend likes blueberries. The freshly baked sesame was chewy texture and very delicious. If you are lucky, you can get freshly baked. So cheap and the bagels are worth the price. bring cash. There is also an ATM inside the store.

Was excited to come here after i got to Enjoy experiencing these bagels at their outpost in the market in Toronto and loved them. Always been a big fan of the Montreal style bagel. That honey water bath they give them during the cooking process makes them so good!! Great flavor, great chew and perfect size in my opinion.

Got a half dozen sesame and they were still steaming in the bag 😍😍 amazing. As good or better than I remembered!

They only sell whole bagels to go (by the single , 1/2 dozen or full dozen). Like you can’t buy a bagel and cream cheese that they make up for you. They have individual cream cheese packets that they sell for $1 each and they’ll give you a wooden knife if you like so you can make up your bagel. Awesome watching them make them right in front of you.

Cash only. Line wasn’t long. I went at like 8:45am on a Friday.

I was so happy to see that very little has changed in this legendary Montreal bagel bakery. Even though the presence of pandering concoctions such as blueberry, cinnamon raisin, and butterscotch unnerved me a bit, I am happy to report that the REAL bagels are as great as ever. Being able to do a fresh bagel run at 11:43 pm is one of the cornerstones of Montréal greatness.

One thing to note: this place is CASH ONLY! A must try when in Montreal, I found out! Came here one morning to try these bagels. They were fresh out the wood fired oven! They were so warm and smelled nice. I got the sesame bagel and it was so nice to eat warm. I ate it plain and without any spread. I took few to go and while they were not the same as freshly baked, they were still good in the toaster. They seem lighter than the bagels you’d get in USA.

This bagel shop in Montreal deserves high praise for serving the best bagel I've ever tasted; it instantly became my favorite. However, it's essential to NOTE that they only accept CASH, which proved inconvenient as I had to use physical currency, incurring unexpected costs.
Despite this inconvenience, the outstanding flavor of their bagels makes it a must-try spot for bagel enthusiasts in Montreal.

What a wonderful Montreal experience! Piles of floor bags, fresh dough being made, and freshly baked in a fire oven. 🔥. Picked up a dozen Montreal style bagels on the way to the airport! You need to check this out when in Montreal.
