I recommend Janice Chan to anyone that plans for funeral arrangement, for family and for oneself. Janice is tremendously supportive, caring, and reliable.
My husband passed in Sep 2023. It was with Janice's help I organized and went through the process during the difficult time. She prepared for me and my sister in law each an envelope that contained a beautiful poem that we teared up reading it. Truly appreciate her gentle and thoughtful way of comforting our grieving family.

Came here to ask some questions about pre planning because my grandmother is in palliative care at PMH. Yan was extremely compassionate and helpful. She explained the difference between funeral and cementary and we came out of there with much more knowledge. We felt extremely comfortable with her and would just like giving her a special shout out for being so kind.

From the very beginning of the pre-planning stage to actually come the time of my mom's burial, Janice was there to guide and help me through the whole process. It is very fortunate that we were referred to Phyllis Koo for cemetery and funeral service. After knowing our situation, instead of just marketing the service, she provided us with step-by-step guidance from selecting the plot to choosing a funeral service package which could best suite our needs and expectations.

The whole process was a very pleasant experience for us with no stress or pressure ever felt. And in addition, benefited from her in depth knowledge of Western and Eastern cultures and artistic designing skills, we happily accepted her suggestions from the service to almost all of the details. At the end, everything went very smoothly which greatly reduced our stress at that difficult time in our life, therefore, we even purchased prepaid service because we believe that Phyllis is a caring, knowledgeable, and trustworthy professional.

When I contacted Janice Chan to prepare funeral arrangements for my mom who has owned a niche at Highland Memory Gardens, and who was in long term care at the time, Janice was very friendly and warm, she's also very helpful and efficient. Janice is a kind and responsible lady. I first met her, on a Sunday, April 3, 2022, at the office of Highland Memorial Garden, North York.

Janice willingly walked with me to the site, took a picture, followed up and installed the missing vase on April 17/022, for my belated husband Steve Soou who passed away on August 27, 2020.

A result-oriented and professionally working lady. Me, this 81 years old woman waited and tried hard to communicate with the office for the last 20 months.

I highly recommend Janice's service. We all understand " action speaks louder than words'. Hope the world has more people like Janice.

The office staff were extremely patient and helpful. Our goal was to clearly identify where various family members are buried so that our children/grandchildren have a handy record for future reference. My sister and I were provided with clearly marked maps. Even the grounds-keeping staff were a pleasure to chat with. I was also pleased to send pictures to my cousins and assure them that grounds are well kept and we couldn't ask for better service.

Janice Chan is a very nice and pleasant person. She has provided excellent pre-planning service to me and my husband. She is very knowledgeable about her profession and is always prompt and precise in responding to any question. Janice always keeps us informed and invites us and our friends to any events or promotional activities arranged by Highland Memory Gardens. She always supports other charity organizations, e.g. she donated generously to the annual orchid shows organized by the Toronto Artistic Orchid Association. the best ever funeral planner, with out any stress. During Mom illness i was able to get all the information from Janice even though she was in China.
Janice went way beyond to make mom funeral stress less for us. she has demonstrated professionalism from the funeral home to the burial ground. Even through the church service, I had beautiful pictures from the ground, to show the other members of the family who couldn't attend due to Covid. I would like to say thank you to Highland Memory Gardens, to have such an amazing staff, who cares about people.
