I have lived not even 10mins from this hidden gem for years and just discovered it a couple days ago and couldn't be more pleased. Beautiful scenery and trails. It's an avid bird watchers dream come true. So peaceful and serene. I'll definitely be back.

The area is very well kept . I had a bird in my hand moments after I got on to the trail , there were several of them excited when we arrived.
Chipmunks , toads , Humming Birds and so many species of birds on the boardwalk. Real hidden gem !

Well kept trails with some inclines and occasionally narrow, elevated paths. Lots of birds and wildlife in general. Benches are placed in a few spots along the trails.

A pretty, peaceful natural area. It has a parking lot for easy access. The trail goes around the whole forest, including a boardwalk area and a pond that are perfect for birdwatching. The trail is quite hilly with roots in the ground to watch out for. There are a variety of tall trees and low brush with some open areas to make for a variety of surroundings to enjoy on your hike.

Great hiking trails with lots of wildlife and signs explaining how the geography formed. I wish there were a couple of trail maps places on the trails, as there are so many off-shoots you could wander down. I enjoyed exploring these trails blind, nonetheless!

It is a wonderful undulating landscape with both coniferous and deciduous trees in various areas. There is mild elevation changes, wetlands, and large and small ponds. The boardwalk that crosses the wetlands early on in the walk seems to have small birds landing looking for seeds (I suspect people feed them out of their hand). It was a sunny day when I walked it and there were a plethora of turtles sunning themselves on various vegetation and fallen trees. There is a lack of directional signs, so best to take a photo of the map at the parking lot to refer to. Enjoy!

Great trail system, if short. The boardwalk has recently been rebuilt, and trails are in pretty good shape, not overrun by tourists like alot of the other local trails.

We went for the birds. First time visit and we will definitely be back. Seen were many winter birds with 2Tufted Titmouse and 4 Rusty blackbirds as the main attraction. Beautiful place to hike👍

Contrary to everybody calling this trail not very well maintained I think it’s fantastic. Much more of a nature trailer compared to something that is constantly groomed. Very easy to find you way around. Could use a walkway/bridge over the swamp at the front of the trail to the left. But understand it’s probably due to funding. Overall fantastic place to take a hike!

Kids love it here. From personal experience, it can be tricky when the ice is thick if you don't have ice picks on your feet. But it's easy to find your way around and it's a great walk in the woods!

My favourite trail in the area. Growing up in Ayr, my grandfather would take me and my sister here most weekends during the summer and fall. Really nice trail with lots of plant and wildlife. Bring some seed as the chickadees will eat off your hand. There used to be a lot of turtles although I have not seen them in years. There are a few places where the trail is narrow, it's not a trail suitable to bring a stroller as there are log steps and lots of steep hills. A few years ago they stopped maintaining the trail altogether, so I was happy to see it's walkable again. They also added a new boardwalk near the entrance. It's not a long trail, takes me and my boyfriend about 30 minutes to walk the entire trail. Also if you hit the old boardwalks be careful as there are some holes and wobbly boards.

Another great, local trail to enjoy. We will have to remember to bring some bird seed with us next time. The area reminds me of the Chesney Wilderness trail but not as busy.
