This trail on the northernmost tip of Prince Edward Island is in a uniquely undeveloped part of Canada’s smallest province. This walk features all the things that draw tourists to PEI every summer: a lighthouse, cliffs, the gentle swell of the ocean, a quaint restaurant and gift shop and, if you hit it at low tide, a beach. The trail is also a boon for birdwatchers and plant lovers, with many interesting species in the vicinity.
The trail itself is about three miles (5.1km) but it’s not too difficult to take on since the more challenging bits are made manageable with the addition of a wooden boardwalk. The path also veers into the cape’s Black Marsh, a bog that is often dotted with colourful flowers, making for a very pretty vista. Visitors also get a less natural but still spectacular view of PEI’s wind energy industry, with a wind farm along the route.

Firstly, this trail is located by the North Point Lighthouse!!!

This was the highlight of my trip as it was very senic with lots of stops to make along the trail. The path is mostly flat and easy to walk with a few beaches and signs to stop at to read. You can take a break and bring a lunch as there a few benches along the way as you walk all along the path. A second path goes through the forest but I'd avoid it as i got lots of big bites from the forest path.

If you go on a day where it's foggy, its even nicer as the windmills seem to be half hidden at times.

A really beautiful place. Worth the trip. We came after about a 4 hour drive and loved it so much that we stayed to see the sunset. Make sure if you do stay, you buy your dinner and go to the washroom before everything closes, since it's quite a distance from everything else. There's a little gift store there, but it does close at some time. Also, make sure to bring some warm clothes since it's cold next to the water, even during the peak of summer.

Beautiful flat trail along the beech and partly in the woods. There's a Wind Farm along the path and on occasions you can come within couple of meters of them. They're pretty large and impressive. We were there early afternoon, so were mosquitos!

The posted maps show the trails but do not specify distances!

Was a wonderful trail. I was completely at peace watching the ocean taking pictures of all the amazing surrounding. You will find a cute light house. If you have kids just be careful there are Cliff's. I highly recommend this trail you won't regret it.

Beautiful part of PEI where the tides meet. Nice area to walk and several interpretive boards to explain the history of the area. Great parking and easily accessible. Windmills in the background enhance the walk as well.

Some services are offered. Clean Washrooms within a souvenir store. Restaurant is closed at this time. Trails to go around and see the landscape. Parking is easy, place is gorgeous.
Glad we visited the site.

This trip was really interesting and informative. There is an interpretative centre explaining wind energy which was worth the tour. The walk out in the ocean during low tide was cool.
It's a long drive out but worth the trip

Fabulous place with something for older folks, younger folks, kids, scientific types, nature lovers, photographers...and on. A beautiful spot. Birds, fox, wild flowers, coastline. Loved it!

I am not an avid hiker, so I loved the easy walk and gorgeous scenery. It was crazy windy, yet... so cool to be right under the massive wind turbines. Needed a hoodie and a wind-breaker on the northern side of the tip.

Legitimately one of my favourite places on the island. If you enjoy boundless flat expanses, dead plant fauna around a sand bar, and a deconstructed windmill demonstrating its enormous size, this may be worth the (relatively short) drive.

A nice stop along the North Cape Coastal Drive. We didn't take in the museum but the scenery around and the trail were pretty nice. We were lucky enough to see seals!

This was a lovely hike. All flat, no hills. I enjoyed checking out the windmills and the beautiful coastline all at the same time. I've heard about dead birds at the base of windmills but I didn't see any and I passed by a lot of windmill bases. Enjoy this place. It's got lots of good information posted along the way. I took time to read them all and I'm glad I did as I found them very informative.

If you are visiting this area of PEI, I would say this is a must visit place. When I visited, the place was extremely quiet. I was the only person in the area which I really appreciated. Lots of windmills and a working lighthouse. Good walking trails on the shore. The restaurant was closed (not sure if it was because when I got there or if it was closed for the season), but I would say it would be a great place to have dinner.

Very scenic place and easy to navigate by foot. Warm water in the summer, beach area is a bit rocky. Cairns (rock piles) left by locals and visitors add charm to the place. The most scenic spot would be at the back of the lighthouse, offering panoramic views of the lighthouse, the nearby wind farm, and spectacular bluffs touching the shore and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Nice gift shop.
