Pretty decent quality internet sensation restaurant. The place is cozy and always pack of food lovers.

The atmosphere here is absolutely one of the kind, and the food sourcing is fresh and good quality.

The fish soup is a bit too herbal for us, we can barely taste the freshness of the fish.

The fish quality is solid.

The steak def has the wow factor, probably one of the best steak we have in town so far.

Is it one of the best dishes at this price point in town? Probably not.

But does it worth the first time visit , absolutely.

First, I would say, if you can, make sure you go at a time when it’s not super busy; because if it’s busy it’s pretty chaotic, even if you’ve made the reservation. I see on here it’s been given some bad reviews because of this. But if you go when it’s going be quieter, like when it first opens up (noon) or before 4 PM then you’ll have the most amazing experience! I was in Yellowknife for 13 days and I had five meals here! Working my way through the fish menu. And they were all absolutely beautiful!!! The BEST fish I’ve ever had! The price looks a bit pricey (but that’s the norm at all places in Yellowknife) but you absolutely get what you pay for so it is totally worth it! I had the trout, the cod, the whitefish, the Arctic char (which is like a salmon), and the inconnu fish. It’s all local fish, and they were all absolutely mouthwatering, melt-your-mouth delicious! I HIGHLY recommend this place and if I get back to Yellowknife I will eat there lots and lots again! It’s an absolute gem! And it’s in Old Town Yellowknife, which in itself is an absolute gem! Bring a marker pen so you can add that you were there to all the cool graffiti and things posted on the walls and ceilings from all of its visitors!

This place was packed!! Not only is it full of tourists, but the locals were lined up too so you know it’s good. We had the fish and chips with the cod and the pan fried whitefish. The cod was one of the best pieces of fish I’ve ever had.

Food was great and real fresh! Best grilled cod and buffalo i had! Not the greatest seating experience, but what can you ask for more in this town.

Amazing arctic char and bison ribeye, as well as local beer! The place was packed, so we were fortunate to have made a reservation. The atmosphere inside was very unique. If I'm ever in town again I will be back for sure.

The most famous restaurant in Yellowknife. Reservation is highly recommended. It serves super-size locally caught fish dishes.

Someone wrote on the wall “fish any fresher, you’d be on the boat” and I have to agree. I got the grilled lake trout with fries and the house salad. I also tried the deep fried cod and pan fried pickerel. The fish is juicy and the salad is fresh. The place is small and cozy. It was quite full and when I arrived for lunch on a Saturday in late September. I got seated at the bar without a wait but bigger parties might need to call ahead or join the wait list for a table to become free.

We walked in after numerous attempts of booking by phone. Waited a bit at the door and sat at the bar. BUT! The food is totally worth the wait!! We had deep fried cod and pan-fried Arctic Char, both delicious.
Suggest to go in between peak hours.

It's one of the famous spots for all the right reasons in Yellowknife to enjoy a fresh caught Arctic fish.

The pan fried Arctic char was fantastic and the house salad with inhouse dressing was amazing too. The walls are the memory walls where all the travellers have added something.

The place is small but it's generally less crowded after 7pm( most people start leaving on Aurora tours). Take a reservation if planning to go between 5pm-7pm.

Fresh fish & chips and old fashion poutine. Can't go wrong with that. Delicious and highly recommended if you're ever in Yellowknife.

Great spot for fish, offered up three ways: deep fried, grilled or pan fried. Uses a lot of local fish and also some imported (e.g. Arctic char). Salad dressing is made in house and tastes amazing. Serves locally brewed beers too. Definitely worth checking out because it has never disappointed me (and I’ve eaten here several times). Good atmosphere and good times! Don’t forget to sign your name too.

Such a cool place to experience. Family style dining and the best local catch. Loved the homemade fries and local brew.

Fresh fish taste excellent, recommended place to eat, bit expensive, crowd, hard to get a chair at peak time, but worth visiting.

Very busy place, reservations are highly recommended.

Fish was fresh and delicious. I had the pan fried inconnu (local whitefish from the Great Slave Lake) and tasted the deep fried cod from my friend. Both were winners.

They have homemade sauce (on the table) which was slightly sweetish but tangy and flavourful at the same time.

The place is full of history and people who have visited from all over the world have left their names and/or notes on the walls or ceiling. Quite interesting.

They have local beer and service is quick and efficient considering there was one cook who doubled as cashier, one waitress (Paige) and one busboy for the whole restaurant.

Highly recommend!

Food was very good, we enjoyed so much.
Very popular and busy place, restaurant was packed with people and unfortunately some of the menu items were sold out.
I hope will be able to try them when I go back to Yellowknife next time.
