Mae's Kitchen

Had the chicken Cesar salad (to go) last week and can’t stop thinking about it. It’s one of my recurring cravings and Maes makes a tasty, generous salad. Cafe was clean, service was friendly and the food was fresh and came out quick.

I came to town for the Mirror Days events. I am editing my review after getting first hand service from this cafe. Thank you Mae for the good food, and a bigger thank you for being a positive influence in the community you serve.
Only four stars for atmosphere as the weird tension created by this beef with the other cafe makes me feel like I’m picking sides when I’m really just trying to support those who support their community.

The last few reviews are from people who have never once set foot in Maes Kitchen, and very likely have never set foot in Mirror, Alberta for that matter. They’re just pathetic and petty attempts at smearing Maes, prompted by the owner of another establishment, a roadside grease pit run by a sad, angry and spiteful little man with an inflated sense of importance and horrible personal hygiene.

Had an awesome burger here, plus some top notch gravy. Staff is great.

My work takes me into Mirror frequently. Whether I'm just starting my day, or finishing it, a trip to Mae's Kitchen makes it better. The staff is very friendly and you can tell that they put a lot of care into every meal. I have to mention her soups, which can warm you up on the coldest day!

Once again a FANTASTIC meal and amazing service, well worth the drive .

We stopped in for a bite to eat during our Motorcycle ride. Staff very welcoming and friendly, food was fantastic. Portion sizes are excellent and the prices are extremely reasonable. Everything is air fried, no grease, delicious. We will be back!!

After a long night of work on the railroad this was a great place to stop, relax and have a meal. The food is made to order and was tasty and comforting. The service was good too and the price was right. Definitely recommend.

Very nice people who serve with a smile. Fantastic homemade food and baking. We loved finding this little diner on the back road . A respite from the sameness of fast food chains.

For Canada Day we were heading to a lake with the pups and passed through Mirror. Saw the great reviews for Mae's so stopped in. Very clean and cozy, looks like it's frequented by locals which is always a good sign.

I was very happy to see so many vegetarian options! Very unusual for small town AB. I got the black bean burger and hubs got the bacon mushroom burger. Based on reviews we also got gravy and deserts. A+ glad we added the salted caramel brownie to our order!

While waiting for our order, had a great chat with some regulars and staff brought out ice cold water for the pups! Pups were very happy at all of the attention they got and I was very grateful as the water we'd brought was hot from the car. Staff seemed genuinely friendly and happy, which is always heartening to see.

Overall, a very relaxed and happy experience. Thanks for making our holiday so nice!

One of the kindest people I know..she truly cares about her customers. Her food is exceptional..I'm hooked on her burgers and fries. Your missing something special if you don't stop in mirror at Annie's. Love her♥

Best restaurant in Mirror, voted best in Central Alberta, Mae’s excels in service, atmosphere, menu selection, food quality, health and sanitation compliance, price, and friendliness. A pleasant dining experience makes this place the best in town for residents and passers through alike. One could say they outshine the competition, but really, there is none.

I moved to this area a couple years back and a friend suggested this place for lunch. I had the hamburger steak, mash, gravy, and veggies, this meal was excellent. Food was freshly prepared, not frozen or canned, the quality and taste makes this hands down the best restaurant food I have had in the area yet. While being in an older building the restaurant is clean, well cared for, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I appreciate this homestyle cooking.

Just had a scrumptious breakfast, totally hit the spot. Owners are awesome and inviting. So glad we made the trip in have to pop in for supper next. Definitely will be back. :) Gotta love the homemade food in small town Alberta. 🥰

The food here is definitely worth the drive the restaurant is always very clean and the waitresses are always smiling and makes you feel welcome The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend you try it.

Annie Mae, Dennis and their staff are always welcoming and friendly. The food is fresh, delicious, and affordable! Definitely a must try stop.

Stopped at Mae’s Kitchen for lunch yesterday. Busy little place! I had the best Beef and Barley soup ever-a huge bowl. Very good. And tasty pie for dessert. Will definitely go back! Very friendly staff and great prices!
