This is a clean and very well kept provincial park on Buffalo Lake. The camping sites are big, and there are dozens of individual and group camping sites. There is a boat launch in the park.

When the water level is low enough, the sandy beach besides boat launch site is gorgeous for enjoying the summer sunshine. The sand is so soft and laying on it feels like u are in somewhere southern ocean beach. The campground nearby is pretty organized, and bushes and trees around each site provide good privacy. Each site is far away from the neighbours. If u enjoy this park please don’t forget to pay $1 at the beach entrance to local foundation which maintains this park

This is the best beach on Buffalo Lake. The one section of it is very rocky, but the other side is exceptionally nice sand. Very soft and sandy, not rocky at all. The actual lake itself can vary depending on time of year and depth as to whether the water is clear or mucky, but do expect some seaweed. The beach itself is average sized. The depth is very shallow so that you can walk out likely 200 metres or more and still have it not past your waist. This beach is lovely but not too busy. Even on busy weekends I have never seen it so busy it’s impossible to snag a decent spot.

The beach has an old change room, and some stinky and dirty outhouses. But thankfully it does have a shower to rinse off at. If you walk a ways or drive about two minutes from the beach you’ll get to a little snack shack which is tasty, and a playground which is new and quite good. My kids enjoy it. There also is an older playground right at the beach, but it’s not the greatest.
The beach asks for a dollar or two per person but it is not enforced strictly.

This is my favourite low-key central Alberta beach. And definitely a lot better, in my opinion, than the other beaches I’ve been too on Buffalo Lake.

This is a beautiful beach to go to, we absolutely loved it and would go back.

They have a play structure here, day use area, very clean place.
No lifeguard on duty.
Dogs are allowed at this park (on a leash) but not allowed on the beach.
Outhouses are located at the beach and near the entrance of day use area which are kept very clean.
Sandy beach but rocks are in the water so wear your water shoes.
Boat launch at entrance of day use area.

Clean, organized, friendly and well-run. There are so many birds here; it's a great place for birding. Nice trails to walk and nice beach. Small playground. Tent camping was lovely.

A hidden gem in Alberta! A quaint, sleepy lakeside community with a beautiful beach and a sandy bottom shallow lake. I went there to play a round of disc golf and lived the community. The locals are very friendly. The disc golf course is short but still fun. Hole 14 is up the road from hole 13 and so is not obvious unless you have the u-disc app. Hole 18 finishes at a snack shack with reasonably priced burgers, fries and ice cream. A great place to spend a summer day!

I’ve never camped here but I come at least a few times a year for the amazing beach and playground. It’s such a nice beach with lots of soft, fine sand that’s well tended to. My kids love both playgrounds.

Great sand! Pretty clear water and shallow too. Perfect for small kids. Many people paddle board here as well

Want to rate this place poorly because I don't want 10000 people and there dogs to show up. Rochons great one of the last great places close to a major town that's not yet been ruined by the masses.

For the past three years we've participated in the Run in the Buff. We camp at Rochon Sands and always have such a great time! We went back in the middle of September and omg it was awesome! Took advantage of the tennis court with some old rackets I had! Well maintained court! The campsites are great! I love the fire pits. The birds are very friendly! They eat right out of your hands! (we brought birdseed). Staff are very friendly and accommodating...we will be back 🤗

We have visited the day use beach area a few times this summer and always enjoyed it. The beach is nice and sandy and a pretty good size. There is plenty of parking and a nice viewpoint up some stairs beside the south parking lot.

Although there was an fecal warning a couple weeks prior. The lake looked really clean no lake bugs and algea lots or tiny schools of fish. Gmcsmpground looked really nice I'd like to go back someday to camp. $2 or $1 person for day use I cant remember.

Sandy beach, bathrooms, changing rooms, shower to rinse feet, park, ice cream shack. Great spot to hang with the family. Water is a decent temp for swimming. Can get busy in the summer but you can always find a spot to sit.

I've now gone camping at Rochon Sands three different times and it is a great camping spot! The staff is very friendly and the campground is in very good condition. Our last stay was in a group spot that had enough room for everyone and even had a cook shelter with a cook stove just in case the weather was bad. The Snak Shack is just down the road if you are craving some ice cream on a hot day. It was a nice escape from busy city life. I will definitely be planning another return trip!

One of our favorite places. It has everything you may want. Sandy beach, nice and clean water. There is also a play area for kids and the views are priceless. Everyone should visit it atleast once.
