What a great campground. The sites are wonderful, clean and well organized. There has been some leftover damage from Fiona with downed trees, but the staff and Irving have cleaned up well. Staff are awesome, washrooms are super clean. It was very quiet, too. We walked many trails and would definitely stay again.

This was our first stay at this park and it won't be the last. We already booked for Oct and I'm sure we will be back next season.
The sites are great, lots of room.
Walking trail to the beach is a nice, easy, beautiful walk to a sandy beach. Hopefully they will be able to get the other trails cleared (Dorian damage).
One of the best parts was the fire wood was DRY. Thank you so much.
There is a store only about 1 min from the park! It has a pretty good selection plus booze plus gas pumps!! Very handy.

If you're camping at Amherst Shore don't forget to bring your binoculars when you go to the beach. You'll see these lovelies (sealions or seals). The bigger one seems like being a show off 😀

Wonderful off the beaten track campground, red beach was a little cool for my blood. Obviously work in progress but looking forward to a return visit.

It's the first time I've been to this campground. We had a pop-up trailer so we required electricity and water. The site was clean as were the public toilets/showers. Our site was spacious and close to a great walking trail.

You can tell they must have made recent updates. Great spot, level camp sites, new electric and water hookups. Loved it will definitely go back next year.

Seriously, this place was adorable! There was welcoming volunteers there to help. Bathrooms and wash up area was great. We were sad we only booked 1 night! But we did get to sleep with the fly off our tent which was novel and wonderful!

Enjoyed our stay and plan to go back. Very clean and quiet park with well serviced and maintained bathroom facilities, friendly and helpful staff. Campsites are large with ample room to park a travel trailer or pitch a tent. Beach is an easy walk from the campground. Bring a folding chair to sit on at the beach, it is rocky and only gets sandy at the water line.

A gorgeous park with a stunning secluded beach (and the sand is the kind with the red clay, and boasts some of the warmest waters north of the Carolinas). Camp sites are nice and big, good view of the stars, good services. Only downside is that the water was not potable when we visited but as long as you have the ability to boil your water (or just bring bottled water) you will be OK.

Overnighted here on our way to Cape Breton Island from Ottawa. We enjoyed it so much that we booked three nights on our way back home. We toured the area. Park is well maintained, staff were very friendly. Lots to see and do in the area.

Stayed here for a weekend for the first time. The bathrooms were super clean and cleaned frequently. Our sites were big...wooded..and fairley private.. had power and water hooks up. Great place to go for a weekend camping retreat. 🏕 Will definitely be back.

Site 4: Love this spot! Huge wooded sites. Sites have water and power, but there’s a dump station near the entrance. The dump station has a water hose if you wish to flush your tank (need a wrench since there’s no tap handle). About a 15 minute walk to the beach from site 4. This site was a pull through. Tons of room. You could have fit 2 trailers and several tents.

They have upgraded more of the campsites to have water and electricity directly on site. This is a small Campground so it's never too crazy loud, there's a beach close by and there's another Beach further down the road at a Provincial Park where you can easily have a barbecue picnic and still be on the beach. Some of the campsites have blueberries growing on site, which is awesome if you feel like having that with your pancakes for breakfast.

Simply put.. an excellent park and very accommodating staff. Beautiful, very big camp spots and great walking path. Staff was exceptionally helpful and although camp was full when we checked in were able to find a great spot for us and our Motorhome. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.

One of the best kept and beautiful parks in NS. It's a bit of a hike to the beach but worth it. Red sand beach great for beachcombing and warm water for swimming. Sites are private and quiet.

Wonderful walk through the forest to the shore. Seal was there to say hello! This will become part of our fall routine. Park closed but ample parking at gate. Be kind when you park and leave room for others.
