This local park is well maintained and a part of our local history. We forage mushrooms, apples and oysters ( at low tide) from the park. Our dogs love the freedom to run here. Great place to come for a picnic and swim in the summer. Lots of seabirds and shorebirds as well as grey seals to be seen.

Clean, plenty of parking, and some of the most beautiful lookouts and scenery. You won't regret a stop here.great for swimming especially at low tide - this is one of the closest beaches to Amherst.

A great place for a picnic by the ocean. When the tides go out you can walk out on the old pilings they were making for the Chigencto Ship Railway. Also, there is a trail head near the parking area that leads along the old rail bed to a suspension bridge near Tidnish Bridge. About an hour from the park to the bridge and back. Cannot recommend this place enough. A gem.

Nice little park to go picnicking or swimming , great for kids to run around.
And I seen the most dragonflies I’ve ever seen in one place.

A hidden gem on the Northumberland side of Nova Scotia! Check out the story of the amazing ship railway and the remaining installations such as the stone bridge.

This beautiful park is always so quiet and the beach is lovely. At high tide it's a great place to collect rocks and shells and have a picnic, and at low tide there is a nice big stretch of sandy beach to walk. It is very well maintained. There are change rooms and portable toilets.

Perfect place on the Amherst Shore. The end of what was to be the Ship Railway project, you can still see what's left of the docks when the tides out. (it's not much, just broken brick and rocks) Perfect spot to picnic, swim or lay out on the grass cliffs for sun. Washrooms and change rooms onsite. There is a walking trail nearby too.

We have a cottage next to the park. Beautiful and worthy of your time. Out from the rocks you can see a natural seal show twice a day when the tide is out. Don't go too close and scare them. The large black birds sit on top of the seals and clean them.
The water is very warm in the summer and on hot ways the oceans water is like bath water.
When the tide is out you can walk for miles over the beaches. You can walk over the sand about 1000 feet of more. Very very beautiful area of Nova Scotia. Warmest Atlantic beaches in East Canada.. Northumberland Straight. Come and enjoy.
