Hired this firm as part of a group type litigation, in the end It cost me 20% in legal fees to recover 68% of my claim. They seem knowledgeable and I do believe I would not have recovered any of my claim at this point if I didn't hire them.

I found they have poor communication around client billing and had a hard time receiving a consistent answer when asking about invoices and services rendered. This would be a great opportunity for improvement on their part.

My husband and I came to Shantelle for the closing of our home. We were happy with her services at the beginning, she was kind and prepared our documents for a smooth closing. Our house closed but there were a few minor withstanding issues that needed to be addressed. We asked her to promptly handle these matters and at the very least, keep us updated on what was happening. We didn’t hear back from her for months and when I followed up looking for an update, she never had one or wouldn’t respond to my emails. The lack of communication continued for several months. I understand this was minor issue for her to be dealing with but it was our money and we wanted the withheld money back, especially because our house had already closed. Once the case was settled, I was given no clarification of how it was resolved, just a receipt for the statement of funds.

I understand there are other parties involved and often we spent a significant amount of time waiting to hear back from the buyers but the lack of communication (or no communication at all ) was unfair and unnecessary. Due to these reasons, I would not recommend Shantelle as a lawyer.

I have been trying to reach my lawyer for months-- to book an appointment to deal with a matter of family law that is urgent. I have given my name, my number, my availability. I have not been contacted with an appointment by the "assistant" named Clair who had assisted my Lawyer for 3 months. Someone different takes my call every time I call the office They forward me to the voicemail of Clair who never returns my call. I am being run in circles and can't reach my lawyer. It's exhausting, disappointing, frustrating, and emotionally terrifying to not be able to book an appointment when you have a current active case and you have not spoken to your lawyer in over 6 months. I will change my review if current circumstances change.
