Further to "movie bod's" review, there is a rudimentary (dirt & gravel) boat launch suitable for putting small craft such as canoes and kayaks into the water. There are also several picnic tables, at least one of which has a roof.

Midway provincial day park is very pretty and the Midway lake is clear and large.
Our dogs enjoyed a swim and we enjoyed the view.

We stopped at the park while going to Long Island for whale watching. We never expected to comet across a calm and relaxing place like this. Lot of space for the kids to play around and get into the waters. Perfect spot for picnic. It has lot of benches with trees around giving you the needed shade.

Totally a family friendly and good hangout place

4 or 5 picnic tables, 1 covered, not chained so you can move them into sun or shade. Clean park, bathrooms and change rooms. Unsupervised small beach, thats kind of rocky, but not bad. Theres a small floating wharf not far out. End of July and the water was warm. Couple open spots along shore to fish away from the beach. Good family spot to hang for the day. Was there when it was about 21°C and there was only one other group there.

Outhouses are clean, the grounds are well maintained, and the water is gorgeous. There's a free boat launch and picnic tables. We've spent hours there with our family and friends. There are leeches, so bring salt.

The park is well managed and the grass is regularly mowed, the lake is great for swimming in and basic washrooms and changing rooms are provided. There is no overnight camping and the gates are locked at dusk.

Gorgeous, typically well maintained Canadian provincial park. Everything I have come to expect from a country that puts the good of the populous over privatization

Sweet little beach at the end of the picnic area. Great for little ones to splash around. Good picnic area as well. Lots of space to run around.

Early, Sunday morning, sun just peeking over the trees on the far side of the lake. A little mist rising! Not a soul around until I was almost done, then ran into a couple of friends for a chit chat.

Private/semi traveled park durning the "off" season, feels private though right off a main road.
