Grassland is not a professional business whatsoever. My husband and I bought a baler last year. It was “in perfect running condition” and had “gone through the shop.” They knew we were farming our own place for the very first time. Long story short, We got it home and it has never made a bale. We almost lost our entire crop last year because it did not work at all. They refused to give us our money back and take the baler back and were very unprofessional and rude. They acted as though we were young and dumb and easy to take advantage of. Fast forward to this spring. We had to contact Tim in Williams Lake all winter and spring this year so far to get anywhere with this problem. We were able to drop it back off and they would fix the issues the baler had come with. It has been a month or so. It is finally done and now they and Tim himself say we have to pay half of the bill! On a baler that was supposed to be completely running when we bought it. We will not. There is no way. And we will continue to fight until they honour their “sales pitch.” Save yourselves the hassle and the fight. Buy from prairie coast equipment in PG. Doug is wonderful. Grassland has been nothing but a joke. Crooked business.

I am new getting into the farming end of things so I thought I would give a local business my business. That was a huge mistake. Over priced parts, wait time on parts was ridiculous and super expensive. I had also bought a round baler this spring that was in there words "completely gone through and ran great with no issues" I got it home and hooked it up to my tractor there was all sorts of issues with the baler. Talegate would hardly close (had to push the handle multiple time to get it to close). The kicker did not work. Looking more into the baler. The one gat latch was held on by baler twine and a bungy cord. The sheer bolt is broken. So I called and they said to bring it back to get it fixed. It sat in there yard for 2.5 months and never got fixed. And not only that. They also treated myself and my wife like we were the problem and treated us horribly. Will never step foot into that store again or my business and money

Grassland has been apart of Vanderhoof's agriculture community for a very long time. Which is what makes it even more discouraging to have to give it such a poor review! Service, whether that in tells repairs of agriculture machinery at the dealership in town or the order of parts for self repairs on the farm, has been on a serious decline under the previous and current manager. The quality of repair service has gone from tolerable to terrible including downright shady and questionable. The apparent lack of common and necessary parts in stock causes endless down-time, as nearly everything seems to need to be shipped in, when ever a part is required. Shipping takes weeks, and its been that way for many, many years, long before COVID-19. Costs of parts and products appear, more often than not, to be random and don't seem to follow any standardized price mark up. Rather their prices often are absurd - price gouging certainly comes to mind! The lack of the current staff's knowledge of agriculture machinery and parts and honest billing practices is painful. My husband has been a loyal customer for 40 years at Grassland. Over the past 10 years, as the trust worthiness of the management, quality of shop staff, and mechanics has continued to decline considerably, my husband has had to make the difficult decision to no longer deal with Grassland in Vanderhoof. He's lost all faith and trust, in what was once a well run, trustworthy key business in this hard working agricultural community.
