Echo Lake Family Campground

Such a great place! They have put in so much hard work to this place. I almost don’t want to recommend it so I can ensure we get a spot whenever we want 😂! But seriously wonderful campground, great walking trails, well kept outhouses with sinks to wash up, new store and washrooms, fun activities. And you won’t find better staff and owners. Quick easy drive from the city to be in a great treed area that’s is quiet and peaceful. Oh and if you have a dog it’s perfect! Pet friendly, dog park, leash hooks at the outhouses. 10/10 recommend.

This place is absolutely magic, we didn't want to leave. Then owners and staff are so kind and make you feel so welcome but that isn't even close to the best part. The grounds are wild and free and full of life, everywhere you look there is magic. The birds, grasshoppers, bears, (apparently deer we missed them) so much fun to be had. The washrooms are the best outhouses I have ever used, 30 degree days and they still didn't stink!! Fire pits love a big glorious fire and keep you super warm when it's time to sit back and stare at all the stars you can't see in the city, we even got the joy of seeing northern lights on our last night out! I could rave all day about the quiet wild that hides at this campground but I think you should just go and enjoy it yourself!

This place is a hidden gem! We stayed in site #4. Huge site for travel trailer and vehicle. Lots of room in between sites. Power available, clean bathrooms. They also have Water fills and sanitation dump services as well. Beautiful views, quiet place with lots of wildlife. We really enjoyed our stay here. All staff are friendly and accommodating. A little store on site if you forget anything or want a snack. Our family will be back!

Clean, quiet family campground. Lake it great to kayak on and enjoy quiet. Campsites in the trees make you feel like your on your own, but larger ones you could have family or friends join you. Fire pits are large and great for sitting around at night

I've never been here before my stay this May long, but I can tell the new owners are putting in some hard work to make it a great place to stay. The outhouses are very nice, they even have a pump petal sink! There was lots of wildlife to observe while exploring the walking paths. With some time I'm sure the new owners will continue to make improvements, hopefully they add a playground in the future. Overall, a nice quiet place to bring the family.

We loved our time at Echo Lake! It was very peaceful and relaxing. We loved that our dogs were welcome and were impressed with the large and beautiful forested off-leash dog park. The bathrooms were some of the nicest "porta potties" we've come across. They didn't smell, were nice and cool inside, were well lit and even had a handwash station and mirror! The site we stayed in was nice and large with a treed space between the next site so we had room to breathe. The new owners said the power isn't in yet but is coming this summer. When the power is in, this place will be even more of a gem! We plan to bring our friends and family regularly as they allow multiple units per site for a reasonable fee making it cheaper for everyone. And they also have the cutest little camp store!

We stayed at Echo lake a couple times last summer and we loved it. It was quiet and everyone was very friendly.
Already booked for a weekend in July and will be booking for more weekenda soon!

Turning into quite the beautiful campground 😊 dog park for your pet family lots of campground sites with awesome new fire pits ..concession stands with all your camping needs plus a bonus of many trinkets for your loved ones ..I totally recommend coming out and checking it out 😊 more pics 2 come just a couple 2 keep u interested 😉

AMAZING!! This family run campground is absolutely beautiful. The owners and the staff always made sure all our needs were met. They went above and beyond. During a horrific thunderstorm the owner came to us in the middle of the night concerned for our awning we had left out. The wind could have ripped it to pieces. Thank you so much. This meant a lot. The outhouses were not your typical outhouses. These felt luxurious with a nice sink unit and mirror too. Motion sensor lights, and best of all, no smell of sewage or hard chemicals. On Canada Day the whole day was filled with activities for the whole family from Archery to ending the day around a campfire hearing the history of the Athabasca. We truly felt like family there. This was such an amazing gem of a campground where we will be coming back very soon to enjoy it some more! Thank you for such a great experience.

We went out to look at this campground and we were warmly greeted by the family that owns and operates it. It was a nice first visit and will be camping there soon. The tent and trailer sites are huge and are well placed for privacy. There is also a pond for padding with a nice dock. They also have a large selection of RV sites, a huge dog park and a small store with camping essentials. So far I would recommend checking them out.

Big sites, friendly and helpful staff. Treed lots with power. Great prices for firewood. Bathrooms were relatively clean and staff were accommodating. Would stay here again.
