Great, clean, and fresh new stores on St-Jacques Street. Variety of quality food from Iran, Afghanistan, Turkey, Lebanon, at excellent prices. It is really better than Adonis that is no longer the same as before. Highly recommend.

Love the fact that there's a kitchen right next door cooking fresh Iranian meal especially kebab. It's not the best kebab , sure there's room to improve, but still delicious.

My favorite supermarket. Now they are open 7 days a week. Great choice of Middle Eastern product portfolio without messing you up like in Adonis. Big enough but not a giant where ypu get lost… This is what I love about Akhavan.

A reminder of Persian stores and products for us immigrants. Most Persian products are available with the most appropriate price and very good quality. Along with a good shopping, you can enjoy eating kebab and make your day.

I had mixed feelings when I found out that Akhavan had moved from their Sherbrooke St location. I had liked the cozy size of that store. I had not been there for a while, due to difficulties crossing the border from the USA during the whole Covid thing.

However, now that I have visited the new location several times, I have come to like it a lot. For one thing, the parking is much better. Plenty of parking, right at the door(s)! It's true that some of the staff tend to be a little distant, a little standoffish. But, there are others who are wonderful! My two particularly favorite people are the young man from Ghana who is always friendly and attentively helps me load my purchases into my car. I never have to even ask him. He appears when he sees me leaving, like a magic genie.

My other favorite person is the young girl in the seeds and nuts section. She too is lovely and friendly and very helpful with information about the products available.

I mostly go to Akhavan for the Middle Eastern seeds they sell. They have a beautiful variety and they are very fresh and tasty and the prices are good too.

Their other products that I have bought over the years have always been very nice too. Dried cherries, canned Middle Eastern grape leaves, Iranian herb mixes, saffron and much more.

I agree with the reviewer who said it is reminiscent of how Adonis used to be. And better even!

Khavan resto serves cooked kababs that are really really good. I was impressed how good it was. I ordered the 2 brochettes lamb/beef with rice and I must say I'd recommend it to anyone in the area. def a nice try and will be back for this

I wonder if they sell it uncooked so I can bbq it at home.

I must say, The Akhavan Shop not only offers a great variety of products but also boasts welcoming staff, including the remarkable owner, Mr. Akhavan. I genuinely appreciate him. A few days ago, my family and I traveled to Montreal, and unfortunately, our car's battery died. Given the Christmas holidays, most shops were closed. However, we were incredibly lucky because one of the Akhavan employees, a kind girl, promptly located Mr. Akhavan and explained our situation. Without a moment's hesitation, Mr. Akhavan, with a warm attitude, resolved our problem by using his own car. I sincerely appreciate Mr. Akhavan and his team.

This place is a complete maze, it seems to be multiple building linked together with cashes and an entrance at both ends. Once you figure that out it becomes easier to navigate. But do not let that or the terrible layout inside dissuade you. There are some great things here. The feta is the best I ever had, I cannot eat it anywhere else, the olives and nuts offer so much choice and the desserts will tempt you at every turn. Many items cannot be found at your local store and the prices are excellent. I would ask one favor, please install a secure bike rack up front, it is easy to bike to but there are limited placed to lock up your bike.

Akhavan is a good Iranian grocery shop with a variety of famous grocery items popular in iran. It also has your regular needs like milk and dairy etc, and reasonable vegetables and fruits.
It has a halal butchery isle, as well as an isle for pastries (especially iranian).
On top of everything, it also has a bakery and they bake Iranian style breads.
There’s a small restaurant (owned by Akhavan also), which has reasonably priced Iranian kebabs. It doesn’t offer THE best Iranian kebab in montreal (which you shouldn’t expect it to, if you check the prices), but you get good food compared to the price.

So happy with this new location and size of the store compared to the old location! They have everything you would want, including fresh sangak, although their lavashak section could be better. Their kabob counter next door is also delicious and well priced. Highly recommend!

Best almonds, hummus and Medjool dates ever, and frozen fruits are an excellent deal. Have read a few comments about bad service but that's never been my experience, quite the contrary: staff has always been pleasant and efficient. Merci Akhavan!
