Cardinal / Ottawa South KOA Holiday

The place is nice, friendly staff, great for kids. However, they have these tricycle things for kids and they allow them to drive them on the roads within the camp. The bikes sit extremely low to the ground and can be hard to see them if you are in a larger vehicle (like a pick up or an RV) it just seemed really dangerous to me and put me on edge. There was a lot of kids there that weekend so maybe it’s not always like that

It was our first time camping at a KOA as a family with a young child. We normally go to provincial parks. Let me say this was an amazing experience. The activities they do are well planned and fun, the pool, parks, bike rentals, splash pad, and jumpers do a great job at keeping kids busy. No complaints. Nice staff. We will be back!!

Had a 3 day stay here with a 4 year old and he thought it was the best day ever each day. Spent tons of time in the pool and splash pad which stays on all day. Two big bounce pads with a smaller one for smaller kids. Even being there Sunday-Tuesday there were activities each day you can see on the last image of schedule, chip wagon was a fun treat. Cabin is nicely equipped with basic cutlery, pots (but no stove), toaster, bar fridge, Kurig, and BBQ with propane. Very family friendly and quiet at night.

the bathrooms were taken care of.
the pool was small but the park was crowded and so the water and the end of the day needed the rest..

but the pool is heated with wood! how cool is that!

This place is fantastic. Not sure what the people posting the negative reviews expect. It is extremely child-friendly and there is just so much to do. At first I couldn't understand the price as it is a little more than the usual KOA, but after arriving, I understand. Everything is better. I stayed in a cabin and it was glamping to the max....AC, fridge, proper BBQ with utensils, a mirror! and even a TV to play movies on (available free in the office). Even the mattress is softer than most KOAs. The owners have clearly paid a lot of attention to detail. None of the rules are unreasonable either. One of the best KOAs I've ever experienced!!

This campground is very clean and well maintained. In July 2022 we stayed in a Lodge style cabin that was spacious, well laid out and very clean. We had a large front deck with BBQ and fire pit. Lots of beautiful trees. There are a lot of things for the children to do and the wifi was very good as well (I was able to work on the front porch!) The staff were very friendly and hard working, everything was well thought out.

We just spent the weekend camping here. The kids loved all that activities and were playing/ making friends the entire time. The washrooms were clean, and service that we had was friendly and helpful. The sites are very close together, but the neighbors we had were friendly. We would return to this location. There is mini putt, pedal bikes, heated pool, splash pad, park and climbing structure. Some of the activities included, foam party, big water slide, bingo, and movie night.

We had an excellent time at this KOA. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the J section which had lots of shade and was really close to the amenities. The washrooms were clean and bright and there was plenty of warm water. The property was thoughtfully landscaped. We loved that we were able to charge purchases to the site and pay with our choice debit or credit at the end. It was great not to have to worry about carrying cash or a wallet around. There was plenty of space on our site. We also loved the convenience of the on site chip truck and pizza place. We can't wait to go back!

I had a wonderful time with my loved ones creating precious memories. There were plenty of activities to enjoy with the kids, and the staff was incredibly friendly. I highly recommend it as an excellent place to stay.

Been coming camping here for at least the last 3 years, and we love this place. Great for the whole family with lots of activities for everyone. Our kids love the play structures, bounce pillows, pool and splash pad (when they are open in the summer). The staff put in a lot of effort during the summer making each weekend a different theme, with themed activities and events. Sites and facilities are very nice, and all of the staff is super friendly and helpful. Will continue camping here with the family for many years to come!

We camp here for a 2 days 1 night. The staff are helpful. A lot of modules for kids to play with. There is also pool on site.

Amazing place. So family friendly! Staff was helpful and kind, activities for the kids were super fun. The pool and splash pad are amazing and the kids adored the jumping pads and park. The toddler area is so well done as well. This is by far the cleanest camp
Ground I have ever seen. The bathrooms were immaculate and did not feel like camp bathrooms at all. The wifi could be better for when it rains or when settling in for the night. Canny day enough about how much fun we had. This place was just full on amazing. We will be back!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay. Super child friendly. Lots of activities to keep them busy. Staff was amazing, super friendly and accommodating. Park was clean and welcoming. Will definitely be going back!

We vacationed at the Cardinal KOA and before we had left, we had another two weekends booked for the summer. The activities for the family were endless, amenities were exciting and service was so friendly. We vacationed with four children from 3 years old to 11 and everyone enjoyed their stay. Hay rides, rec room, crafts, ice cream social, bingo and beautiful fire works for the special occasion were nothing short of amazing. The pool is toasty and the grounds are pristine. Thank YOU Daniel for your amazing campground and the very friendly staff. You have acquired new regulars.

Karen & Daniel - we visited your KOA these past couple of days and we can’t tell you enough how thankful we are to have gone to such an amazing, clean and well maintained facility - filled with smiles, positive energy & happiness from EVERYONE!
Hubby and I (6 months pregnant) were joined by our little 2 year old princess. We were hesitant to travel the distance not knowing what to expect (an hour) - but you went above and beyond. We didn’t have a vehicle this time around & Karen + Daniel exceeded our expectations accommodating our situation durning the few hours we were stuck wondering.

Their cabin’s were very clean and well equipped with bar fridge, tv, DVD’s available for free at the store (DVD tray built in to tv). AC & Heat, mini fridge, quite a few electrical outlets included also! I do recommend searching it for crickets prior to falling asleep BUT that’s an easy solution! Washrooms were absolutely spotless and thoroughly cleaned and stocked consistently durning our entire stay! Pool was fabulous, water park was amazing - bonus was the “big bouncer” & little “big bouncer” for my 2 year old to enjoy also! (Very safe). I felt very comfortable with all the park equipment and maintenance. We really did appreciate the quiet time aspect for the kids and felt so safe durning the evenings.

If we could give 10 stars, we would - but just know, we will be making this our go to seasonal location cabin spot every year with our little growing family.

This was our second time at this particular KOA and we loved it. The grounds were impeccably kept, the pool was very clean and the climber and other kids activities were excellent. We went with friends who stayed at a transient site with their trailer and we rented the deluxe cabin. It was just the right amount of space and was spotless. I only wished they had some Adirondack chairs for the fire on that particular site. Looking forward to coming back next year.

Stayed in a Deluxe Cabin (Full Bath with Shower), Patio Kottage. Super CLEAN; was very impressed with level of care taken to ensure all conveniences e.g. extra towel bars, soap, bbq propane, and hooks. Keurig machine a plus. Tons of towels, clean pillows and sheets, comfortable beds. Activity schedule and facilities enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Wifi throughout campground. Staff super helpful and friendly. A+++

Great campground. Stayed there during the Canada Day weekend. Tons of stuff to do on site for the kids and yet, quiet enough to enjoy some down time, relaxing. Close to the 401 and 416 so you can be in downtown Ottawa in about 60 minutes.

So much to do and the facilities are kept clean and well cared for! They had activities day and night for kids and adults, amazing play areas, a warm pool... And I guess the theme our weekend was chocolate as we received a plate of treats drizzled in delicious chocolate. The sites were spacious and comfortable with the sand box for the tent. We will go back for sure!!
