One of our favorite places to spend a couple of hours seeing a large variety of turtles. The project is on a mission to protect turtles, educate on keeping our oceans clean, and they have been working on this mission for over 35 years. We highly recommend visiting if you are in the Ubatuba area.

Really great place to see and learn about the various species this project works with and protects. It is really well set up for kids with plenty of interactive elements and informative display. The cafe provides some vegan options and they list allergens. The gift shop has some good quality, sustainable t-shirts and other items that you can buy to support the project.

Great place to see turtles and learn about their conservation. People there take the time to show and explain the history of the project.

Great place for families. Something to do on a rainy day. If you’re visiting with children, kids can feed turtles. Feeding time is 4pm.

Instructive and easy to go about, nice descriptions for each exhibit, Portuguese and English. Better visit between 14-16h, rather empty. It is a 40-50 min visit.

I want to make a lot of advertising for Projeto Tamar. You can feel the spirit to do good for the environment and the people involved and this is a very rare occasion. The park itself is very nice, the project behind is absolutely great. Please visit and support this Projeto Tamar to help sustain and grow it. The turtles you can see there are really great too!

The TAMAR ecological project aims to protect and preserve sea turtles. You can watch several turtle species in their tanks and learn more about them, their life as animals and how they become threatened by human activity. There's a cafe and a convenience store, photos exposed, cool sculptures and a lot of ecological information available about the sea, the fisherman communities, and of course, the turtles.

Where: Projeto Tamar, Ubatuba
What: A place for Turtles
How was it: We loved it, the interaction and seeing all the different types of turtles. It would be a great place to bring children to learn about turtles and about how pollution affects our environment.
Grade: Eli = 5, Serge = 4+
Recommend: Yeah, great place for the family !

Awesome place where you learn a lot about sea turtles with the nice staff there. There are huge turtles living there and some turtle bones, and even a pre historic turtle fossil! You are being constantly consientized of how bad is to throw garbage in the nature

Great learning area about the efforts in saving sea turtles. Starts slow, but gains interest as the self guided tour moves on. Tour guides are available.
