Amazing place, quite rustic and rugged, every beach different. If you are able, get a private boat and beach hop. Better yet, become really wealthy and own a yacht. Loved this island and only explored a fraction

Ilha Grande has several Beaches, It is a tropical paradise, surrounded by the Rain Forest , with paradisiacal Beaches, it's Waters with greenish and emerald colors.

We went a few years ago. My wife is Brazilian, which helps a little being able to hitch rides with fishermen. But we hiked a lot of places, beautiful beaches, jungle, and waterfalls. The hikes aren't easy but not technical, just steep in places. Wild dogs escorted us for parts of the hike, which was a cool experience. The fact that there are no cars is very welcome. Finding little enclaves of houses where we could buy drinks - it felt surreal.

Getting back from our long hikes was trickier. My wife did negotiate with a fisherman to take us back to Abrao and that was definitely the way to go. The town of Abrao treated us well. We enjoyed the food and drink and the quaint surroundings without cars.

Getting all the way to some of the remote snorkeling areas requires more effort or buying a tour. In general, this is a place for an adventure, not luxury or ease of access.

A place I consider it as my second home... five times here and still choose it for a short vacation 7-15 days. Many tours with plenty of options. Several awesone beaches to choose, waterfalls, etc. At least once you must come and enjoy

If you go to Brazil,you must visit ilha grande. You will find heavenly beaches in addition to a quiet environment. Perfect for relaxing and recharging energies.

No motorized vehicles allowed on this well organized tourist island. Everywhere takes credit card.
Walk straight from the waves to the restaurants to the shops. All tour boat companies and all water taxi companies charge the same and fair prices. Seems like there's an agreement on this little island.

We absolutely loved everything about Ilha Grande. I learned a very valuable lesson too. When paying in cash, count your money out in from of the waitress before they walk away. We had a party of 5. They claimed we didn't pay them enough money and demand more. We paid them about half of what they claimed we owed them. We also had an amazing beach house. We took an amazing snorkeling tour by a local professional. We hired a boat to take us to an isolated beach... Fun fun fun. March 2015

Beautiful secluded island with jungle treks and coral reefs for diving. Stay on the main beach for a relaxed vibe and great food options. A great way to spend a few days out of Rio.

I spent one week at this Islande with pleasure, love and peace.
It was a great experience and one of my best moments and once of the most beautiful and relaxing place I have visited in Brazil.
a lot of activities there, Hiking on the forest, swimming in huge beachs and visiting all sides of the island with boats.

Gorgeous relaxed island with laidback vibe and stunning scenery. A myraid of jungle walks, and reasonably priced boat tours make this island damn near perfect. Probably my favorite travel destination thus far.

Is a paradise in Angra dos reis Bay that have 365 islands 🏝 one for each day of the year! Fantastic nature and environment sometimes the wether is to hard over there but the natives amarine and goverment help, perfect to spend beautiful days at the sum there is loads of waterfalls caves also a point for surfing with nice and big waves restaurantes ofer fresh sea food the sea is so clean that you see the fish and they coming to eat in your hands is amazing ❤

It's a Paradise de Río de Janeiro coast. It is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It's very well preserved, with a ton of attractions. Tip: Conceição de Jacareí is the best place to take a boat to Ilha Grande. The better place to stay there is Vila do Abraão. A lot of people can speak English, Spanish, and other languages. It is a must-see place
