Quitandinha has a breathtakingly view on a hill overlooking a lake just outside of town, very must a place to visit.

Amazing look into the past, beautifully preserved in Hollywood rococo style. The ground floor and gardens are now open to the public and host cultural events. Bonus: the toilets look like they're from The Shining (1980).

Very cool and interesting museum, where you can take great pictures. There was also no entry fee.

Beautiful palace, and some couples take wedding photography there. I really liked the round hall with incredibly charming echo. You can add some of your graffiti in the chalk room 😎

It’s a short stop before Imperial Palace that you must stop and visit on your Petropolis trip.

As you can see the outside is something out of a village in Switzerland but the inside were all glammed up!

Each room has its own personality and characteristic - for a purpose. The kitchen although empty just shows how big and thought through this place once was.

There’s a hotel on the top floor which I think would be nice. Petropolis itself is a cozy and cute little town. Very different to buzzing Rio!

Brazilian version of The Shining. The creepy kid's playroom was a nice touch. The massive concrete dome room has increadible acoustic properties. This was one of my favourite surprises in all of Brazil.

A fascinating castle/hotel. You'll see big rooms, big chandeliers, comfortable sofas and things like that. Don't miss it.

Beautiful place, no tickets to visite there

Really beauty of Petrópolis, a must see! Inside the temperature is lower, so bring a coat. SESC also provides guided tours but you can also take the unguided option as well, the informative plates are everywhere. Don’t miss the industrial kitchen, the theatre and the dome!

Pay and do the guide visit because there are much more history about that the plates in front of each room/place. The value of the guide visit is valid. reserve 2 hours

Beautiful place to visit. There's an excellent barbecue store next to the Palace.

Great side trip to see the hotel on the way to or from Petropolis and the Imperial palace. The restaurant nearby looks great as well. There are nice plaques with information with some in English as well.

I had visited this place while on a day trip to petropolis, It is in a very beautiful location with a lake backdrop and a light house.unfortunately, we were given only ten minutes to visit this place and take pictures, this was to make time at the museum we were supposed to visit later for which there was a huge rush and a long que at the entrance,Petropolis,as such, is a very beautiful small town with plenty of european style bungalows, museum and restaurants, must visit this place while in rio

I love how the outside of the building looks like something from Switzerland and the inside all glammed up!

Each rooms were unique and the functions were thought off. It would’ve been a nice casino!

Foi um hotel histórico e tradicional da cidade. Foi transformado em uma escola para agentes de rede hoteleira, um tempo atrás. Ainda é possível se hospedar aqui, mas tem que estudar direitinho como.

It used to be a nice hotel. Nowadays, they have classes here for preparing people who will work in other hotels. I guess it is possible to rent apartaments here, but it isn't a hotel anymore. There are some private apartments. Anyway, its yard and lake is free for having some fun and enjoying the sun.

Must see!

The Brazilian (deactivated) casino à là Vegas style, but better. I recommend the audio tour to hear about how things were. This was my favorite place in Petrópolis alongside with the Bohemia Brewery.

Just amazing place, the size of this resort/ hotel from the 40s/50s is huge. A good place to visit
