Akapana

The ruins of this pyramid can only suggest the grandness it once used to have.
It has seven platforms that were built at different times in history.
It is 194m x 194m on the base and 15.7 m high.
Only parts have been excavated and there is no new excavation in sight.

In some areas you can still find the plaster that once covered it.

Besides the amazing achievement that the ancient Tiwanakens display here, you have a beautiful view over the plains.

This is a great place with a lot of history from a lost culture... I hope someday archeologists discover more about this civilization.

Bello lugar. Dentro del recorrido a todo el complejo arqueológico, es uno de los lugares por donde se inicia el recorrido. Se asciende a lo alto de una loma desde donde hay una bella vista del complejo. Todo el camino está señalizado. Es interesante porque debajo de la construcción visible hay otra construcción que aún vienen excavando. En el futuro, si colocan iluminación sería espectacular un recorrido nocturno.

Muy lindo la vista.

Es un lugar arqueológico de la cultura Tiwanaku...la puerta del sol le da la bienvenida al Solticio de Inverno por don entra los rayos del marcando el comienzo y celebración del año Aymara.

Novas descobertas estão surgindo. Espero voltar um dia para vê-las desenterradas. Maravilhoso.
