Stob Pyramids

Very beautiful landscape, and the path is decently maintained. As of Feb 2024 the final cascade is not secured by a railing so I wouldn't recommend going that far.

An amazing place to definitely visit if you're on the to/from Rila monastery. It certainly exceeded my expectations. First of all, it's a small hiking area, that takes about 40 minutes slow walk, second - there are a lot of sand pyramids! And they look awesome. Just be careful not to slip. The entrance fee was 3BGN for adults and 2 for kids.

The Stob Pyramids, a natural reserve, is definitely worth a visit when exploring the region in Bulgaria. The entrance fee of 3 Bulgarian Lev per person is quite reasonable considering the stunning experience it offers. The hike can be a bit steep towards the end, but there are several spots along the way to take a break and catch your breath. Once you reach the top, the view is absolutely breathtaking. The unique formations of the pyramids combined with the panoramic scenery create a truly sublime sight. Don't miss the chance to visit this natural wonder if you find yourself in the area.

These are rather lovely, and deserve to be visited more. 2 lev entrance fee until 7 pm (if you go afterwards it's free, as the office is closed) and then it's about a half hour walk up to the top. Gorgeous 360 degree views and the pyramid formations are interesting - better early morning or evening as the shadows make them look clearer.

Hiking the trail you pass through the ruins of an old church and a beautiful landscape. The path is easy at first but gradually gets steeper. The final stretch has been closed due to danger of collapse. However there is a purpose made path just before the barricades that still leads to the top where the best views can be viewed.

A definite must visit if you pass through the area of Stob. Don’t forget to visit the church at the start of the trial too!

Beautiful place. Lovely views. Interesting geology. Great walks to be had. Cheap entry. Facilities in the car park.

Highly recommend. I visited in August and there was no charge/entry fee. (It would easily be worth 2/3 BGN in my opinion). There are ongoing works along the trail to the pyramids. New timber railings by the sheer sides and two lovely covered picnic/rest huts and picnic tables here and there. A village dog accompanied me on my walk which I encouraged. I walked in early morning and the views were spectacular and the pyramids amazing and very interesting. A good detour before/after the Rila Monestry.

If you love a good heart racing quick hike with an incredible view, this is the place for you! There is a (small) fee to get in, but it was well worth it! The hike to the top depends on how quickly you want to move, but there was very little 'climbing' at all, so young and old shouldn't have too much of an issue. I am thankful I went and you will be too!

Amazing place! If it's possible, go watch the sunset there, I'm sure it would be even more beautiful. Bear in mind it is very windy. Also, put some sunscreen on. Although it's not a long or exhausting route it's preferable to wear hiking shoes.

Nice walk, beautiful view, it's a bit steep at the end but doable. There are parking spots at the beginning. The walk takes about 30 minutes. There is a small fee. The pyramids are especially beautiful before sunset

This place is more scenic then Melnik pyramids, you can reach them oly for 30 min slow walk

Amazing scenery for a small price! The place is definitely worth visiting. Be prepared the path is not the safest!

Nice hike with beautiful views and plenty of benches to rest along the way. Best time seems to be a couple of hours before sunset.

Beautiful creations of nature. There is a hike from the parking to the top of 20-30 minutes. There are a lot of benches along the path so you can always take a break. On the top there is large field where you can even take a nap of enjoy the view.
