Stara Zagora Zoo

Nice Zoo, bit of a trek up hill from town but worth the effort. Visited during winter so was quiet. Animals look well taken care of and enclosures are clean. Lots of animals, loved the big cats. Small cafe / snack bar / souvenir shoo on site. Well worth the 6leva ticket for a nice afternoon out. Will go back again.

Definitely outscored my expectations - the place is soon renovated, all alleys, cells and facilities are brand new and it is delightful experience to visit the zoo. We were impressed by the lion, the nutria, the emus and a little fluffy pigeons. 🙂

Recently renovated and great place for the whole family. There's several tigers, bears, lots of bird species, monkeys, etc. Pretty much everything you can think of. Animals look happy and well fed.
The whole zoo has been recently renovated and it's amazing. Especially for the price.

It was an enjoyable day. Most of the animales were outside of the cages. The bears were adorable. We didn't see the tiger, tho he was asleep

Beautiful zoo, part of an amazing park great for a good weather walk. Both the zoo and the park went under a reconstruction recently and are even nicer and modern. The zoo is quite large and cannot really get crowded with a few benches and rest areas. The price of the ticket at the time of this review was only 2 BGN for an adult which is basically a symbolic amount and makes it a must see place.

After the renovation the Zoo is a really great place to visit. We went there with my wife and both or our kids and we had a wonderful time. Surely once the weather gets warmer we will visit again.

The cleanest and newest Zoo I've ever visited in Bulgaria! I was so surprised - all animals looked very well and the atmosphere was great!

In my opinion, it is worth paying a visit to the zoo. It is well maintained. There are a lot of different and interesting animals. The brown bear was the highlight! It would take you around 1h30min to see everything depending on pace. The ticket is 2 leva for adults.

Depending on how fast, or slow you walk, the whole zoo can be walked around in approximately 2 hours, so it's not a massive place but for the price, you get to see lions, tigers and bears along with other birds and animals.

For 2 BGN only it is well worth a visit.

The park is renovated and the atmosphere is nice - there are a lot of animals and good viewing angles. There are benches for resting and the entry fee is only 2lv. The parking lot is a bit small as there is a hospital next to it and a huge park, but we managed to find a spot quite fast.
