Vihren Chalet

The food was very tasty. The best french fries with grated cheese. Cheese with honey and nuts a delicacy. I also recommend trying the sausage that was very tasty. Cold beer. Although the location is over 2000 meters altitude, the price quality ratio is excellent. The waiters were very kind, they are young and speak English. It's worth getting here by car. You won't regret it. Also, for those who intend to go hiking there are places for accommodation at more than decent prices. A fantastic experience in Bulgaria that I will recommend to all friends who will want to spend a few days in the mountains or just stop in Bansko for rest. P.S. for those people who complain about the quality and difficulty of the road or the lack of parking spaces, I would like to remind you that this is a mountain cottage and not a luxury restaurant. Try Switzerland, there for sure you will find much better roads and parking spaces at your discretion.

A super lovely place to stay with great food, really nice staff, good service and amazing access to Pirin National Park.

I recommend staying here if you are wanting to start a walk around the park or just hike for one day.

They have a generator running in the evening and at night, good sleeping facilities, hot showers in the evening and nice clean toilets.

Perhaps the best restaurant in the world? Unbelievable view, beautiful tomatoes, all the hikers coming down or going out to the day.... Very memorable.

A completely renovated hut. Authentic interior with a great cuisine. Great variety of local dishes served in large portions reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

We had a lunch two times in the Vihren Chalet, and two times it was an amazing price/quality ratio meal. Especially for being in this location. Outside there is a cool place where they sell snacks and drinks, so for everyone there is a refreshment after hiking.

Overall a great place to visit.

Good food, nice views and a toilet, parking is limited. The chicken soup and bean soup were really good!

Most popular location for trekking or hiking in Pirin park, you will find good food and beer in decent prices.

Very good place for hiking trips. You can start from parking it's take one / two hours to Vihren chalet or you can take bus (4 lev one person) and start you trip directly from the Vihren.

Chalet in a very nice location. Road closed between 8 AM and 16 PM.

We didn't know that this place existed and we found it in the right time. We were hiking and stayed here for a rest. They offer tasty soup and everyone were eating off it. It was in a very beautiful location.

Great place to visit. There is a car restriction between 9:00 and 16:00 you will have to park at a different parking during that time right before the sign. It's about 45 minute walk to the hut from the bottom parking lot where the restriction sign is. The hut itself has a great kitchen. The views are amazing, just breathtaking. To Vihren peak is about 3 and a half hours from the hut, so it's a great resting point. There is a small stand where you can buy food and cold drinks outside the chalet.

Very nice location located approximately 16 km away from Bansko and at approximately 2000 meters above the sea level. Its accessible by car by very narrow road. From there one can climb to Vihren.

Nice place to eat and drink in, good service, delicious food

Recently renovated chalet, very clean rooms but outside bathrooms needed better maintenance. Food compensates every difficulty, it's very tasty and at good quality, no stomach issues.

Mind to bring charged power bank for your phone and photo camera if you intend to stay for more than a day and you need your devices. Access to electricity has only at the kitchen and you have to be really polite to the staff to help you 😉 Charging is free but sometimes you have to wait your turn.

GSM signal is very weak at the whole area, there are few spots only that give opportunity to call your family and friends. So forget about civilisation for a while.

Since there is asphalt road up to the chalet, the place is very, very popular and you should consider your arrival earlier or later as possible to find a free parking spot. Parking is free.

Place get crowded in the summer after 9-10 am till the evenings. Most of the people leave at about 7-8 pm at that period.

Water in front of the building is cristal clear and perfect for drinking. If you plan trekking all the day, make sure you get enough water.

One of the best huts in Bulgaria, amazing location! Car access is not available, however the walk from the parking is about one hour. There is a very nice off piste ski or snowboard feeride from Todorka peak to the hut but there is a big avalanche danger .
The rooms are very nice and clean.

Although many people go there with a car this place never disappoints.

It is supposed to be trekking road. Instead most of the people will still try to climb the peak of the mountain with their stupid vehicle. Come on! Get off and work out. It is better.
