Посветен на закрилника на българския род – св. Йоан Рилски Чудотворец. Той е наречен „високопланински”, тъй като е построен на 1745 м надморска височина и засега е единственият храм в България, въздигнат на толкова високо място.
В чест на славното Успение на Рилския Чудотворец, което се отбелязва на 18 август 2010 год., в параклиса бе отслужена празнична св. Литургия. Тя бе извършена от иконом Васил Иванов и свещеник Йоан Чикалов, предстоятел на столичния храм „Св. Параскева”.
