You must try the mekitza; it was delicious. It was fresh and hot, and I added sugar on top. I also purchased the monastery bread, which had just come out of the oven, and it was one of the best loaves of bread I have had in Bulgaria!

This was the best Mekitsa for me. Really the best food option at the monastery and so fresh and hot with some sugar on top.
also sells drinks and coffee vending machine next door. Very reasonable at 1 Lev each.

The mekitsa are delicious, so is the yoghurt. Delicious and cheap typical desserts. From Italian the worst Lavazza coffee in the world to the automatic machine.

The best mekitsa I’ve had in Bulgaria - was super fresh it burnt my fingers. People negative comments are about the fact it’s not a bakery. It stands on where the monastery’s old bakery used to be, hence the name

Yummy and super cheap Mekitsa. We ordered two to try and we came back before closing. Best with icing sugar on the top. Not the best to eat in the seating outdoor area as it is full of wasps.

Delicious Bulgarian «  donut », fresh and crispy! It was perfect for our breakfast we also bought a small portion of jam but otherwise you can find icing sugar on the tables outside. But be careful! Once you tried one, you want to buy more....

Very specialized bakery, offering mekitsi and yogurt (from cow, sheep and buffalo milk). Mekitsi are very cheap (0.5 leva for one) and fresh, and the service is fast, so the line moves quickly. There are jars with sugar powder on the tables (really recommend to add some! Mekitsi themselves aren't sweet).
