Kolyu Ficheto Bridge in Byala

Easy to visit if you're in the area. At the side of a busy road. We were the only tourists there.

This is a good place to have a break from driving and to admire. Unfortuneately sometimes the place is dirty.

Low technology Bridge construction which would out live the most modern bridges. You wouldn't believe the maintenance budget, 0 euros and no interventions. Well, but also as this structure is calcified as a monument it is not exposed to the any traffic loading.

The bridge is more than 200 years old, I like it very much. The place is quite and beautiful!

Very nice bridge, in good shape, built by Kolyo Ficheto. The view is very nice from the bridge itself downstream the river. It is paved with cubic small stone and I saw cars overpassing it. It has some very interesting bridge pilons, triangular shape with some door-shaped holes in them which we did not understand how they would function - if for high waters or defensive reasons.

Symbol. Part of BG heritage, a must for visitors. Although bridge maintenance should be approved, more information labels to be released.

If you come across this bridge look for its history and read it as you are there. You will feel as if you were there when it was build.
