This Basilica is definitely worth visiting but it’s a long walk from the main tourist areas of the city. I would recommend taking public transit rather than walking as some of the walk felt a bit risky. Visiting the Basilica is free but to visit the upper levels you have to pay a small fee. I recommend visiting the upper deck if you want to have a great view of the city.

Surprisingly quiet place almost in the middle of Brussels, parking right in front of the entrance, opening hours quite limited, so you have to study properly on the Internet, we didn't get to the museum (closed on Saturdays), but the entrance to the panorama was open (you can use the payment machine to get the tickets), we saw the whole church, the 1st floor with the model and some pictures and by the elevator we got all the way up to the roof (viewpoint - panorama), the view is perfect, but I was surprised that the church is very young, I thought it is much older, there is also a small shop and the toilets, we love places like this, everywhere is quiet and peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, people prefer to go to the shopping centers, bars, caffes and of course for beer, but the churches are always empty...

A modern take on the classic cathedral. I visited on a public holiday and it was quiet and perfect for some introspection. The interior is austere and the notable art are the colourful stained glasses. There’s a lift taking you up to a viewing platform.

National Basilica of the Sacred Heart is an incredibly beautiful basilica in Koekelberg.

The architecture is stunning ! The building is actually huge and the symmetry makes it an absolute gem in the region !

In short, coming here when you are in the area is a no brainer ! Free entrance and free parking available 👍🏻

It can get dirty around the structure during summer times because of some people who throw away their waist on the ground.

The only downside is that the neighbourhood is usually very busy. There is always something going on.
I visited the place at 7 AM on a sunday morning, the time you would expect to see no humans and yet, there was an accident right at the parking entrance with a bunch of guys from the neighbourhood and the police..

Probably the best church in Brussels. Very peculiar and interesting with its Art Deco style. Worth to mention the 360 view from the top.

National Basilica of the Sacred Heart is magnificent inside and outside. Entrance to the Basilica is free but you must pay for going up to panorama side. Bus and tram stops are just outside both from front and back side therefore commuting there from the center isn’t a hassle.

Wonderful visit, beautiful weather in sunshine, so. Pictures on the panorama terrace are marvellous. Inside, lots of leaded glass works, on the "balcony" a miniature Basilica and a beautiful exhibition. Little shop sells beautiful postcards, info booklets, magnets, etc. I so recommend!

A great example of Art Deco architecture from the 20th century. If you want to see the upper levels, for a view point, this will set you back 8 euro... good parking options outside ( free )

Amazing size and place to visit... it's breath-taking
It has a huge garden and you can take pictures from all angles.
I missed to get inside... not sure which times you can visit but I would love to come back there any time.
Has a great view to one main avenue filled with trees

A roman Catholic Minor Basilica and parish church in Brussels, Belgium.

Free to visit and no queue whatsoever on Easter Monday.

You can take the elevators to the upper view pointing and there is a souvenir shop inside the church.

That's a massive basilica, slightly far out from the city but worth the visit. There is a paid anatomic view worth 8 euro, which is not bad. History of this place says the king was fascinated by the architecture in Paris and wanted this place to be a near comparison of sacre coer

I really suggest visiting and paying the 8 euro fee to go up and see the city from there!
There is a lot to see after you go through that gate:)

The basilica is beautiful, the elevator didn't work when we went there so if that's the case be prepared to go up 241 stairs. The view in the dome is more than worth the price. Have fun

Its an incredible piece of architecture. The Basilica seems modern in its design in comparison to other large religious buildings in the city. I was really impressed that it was so accessible with ramps and a lift all the way to the top.

Its a little expensive to gain entry to the other sections off the ground floor but its worth it. It was very quiet when we visited and the local area has some nice places to stop and get some food or drink.

The gist shop was closed but once we asked the room next door someone came out and allowed us in. The shop is really well priced and they have some unusual and really beautiful rosary beads.

Either for touristing or for a place of recollection, the Basilica is a must on your Brussels list.

The largest church in Belgium (Roman Catholic) and among the 5th in Europe, it is surrounded by a welcoming park. As tourists you might enjoy the panorama - open until 17.00! - but also the stained glass in a modern style and its architecture, the museums within and the itinerary exhibitions (there was one on chocolate!).

If you are looking for a peaceful time to prayer, there is a permanent open Chappel, where you can register to pray and devout even during the night.

The times of service is announced on the website- as a lot of other useful and interesting information.
