This was one of the most unique experiences i could imagine getting for an instagram short that got recommended to me.
I just saw the statue garden on the post but this museum is so much more. I love the explanations you get from the artists perspective. However you you need steady feet to walk through some of the experiences.
Would highly recommend the weird minded people to visit. You think 5 hours is enough to walk through it all but far from it

What a fascinating place to visit. Art meets nature. Kind of a lost place...you feel like mankind is gone and nature took over. Fascinating and scary and a fairytale in one place. Hard to describe..you have to be there.

Sublime! Must visit. Huge domaine with fine art collection. You can walk trough the exposition rooms and the gardens for hours. Nice cafetaria with a little playground, as well. Great to bring young kids. Hard to get to by public transport, though.

Fantastic museum!
The inside part had a very interesting exposition about life & death. The outside of the museum was a beautiful park with lot’s of installation.
Parking is free, the entrance is easy accessible, there are large toilet spaces near the entrance and a place to buy a drink and a small cart of food (which is kind of expensive).

What an amazing place. Unfortunately, we had only little time to explore but we‘ll return soon to get the whole experience.

What an amazing place ! Really incredible and out of this world.
Walking during spring there is really magical. The outdoor part especially.
I highly recommend anybody passing nearby to visit it, take the afternoon if you can, but it’s manageable in les then 1h30 if need be.
The outdoor attractions are really worth seeing as it is actually weird and creative.

Made a random stop at Verbeke Foundation. Such a lovely place? It's so random, creepy and fascinating at once? Might be my favorite modern art Museeum/Exhibition! We only had around an hour, but I feel I could spend days here? You really have no idea what will be around the next corner! Massive space and the size of some of these artworks are also massive. Overwhelming art experience in Belgium! So many weird & wonderful items! Highly recommended!

Supercool junkyardy place full of art! The outside part is awesome, however the exhibition on the inside was not my cup of tea - a lot of dead animals on display

Brilliant day out. If this place doesn't leave you scratching your head a little and wondering "what did we just see?" then something is really amiss. A gallery, a working art space, a place for art to grow.. literally. Our children loved it too. We will be back...

When Alice in Wonderland meets Dr Frankenstein in A Clockwork Orange setting. This is the most unusual museum I've ever visited, with the tagline "sponsored by nature" Indoor and outdoors, it's massive, it's weird, it's dusty, it's really weird but I loved it.

Might be the most awesome museum in Belgium. Weird installations and non standard art, inside and outside. A lot of emphasis on recycling/circular material use. Pretty creepy and unsettling or slightly discomforting stuff such as huge amounts of preserved animals, with some decomposing on the spot. Huge garden with a lot art 'buildings' and constructions using everything and anything from shipping containers to metal pipes, scaffolding, concrete blocks, biostructures, etc.
Also has a building dedicated to collages.
Temporary Panamarenko exhibit.
Due to the sheer amount of things to see, count at least 3-4 hours for a full visit.

Contemporary art for all ages in a very informal environment. You can enjoy the pieces of art both in and outdoor. The collection is very diverse and therefor quite accessible for everybody. You can also enjoy the class covered terrace outdoor.

Wonderful private modern art museum. Hidden gem next to the E34 highway. Mainly industrial and art made out of recycled trash. Plenty of exhibits inside and outside in a quiet and secluded park. Great cafetaria offering small snacks and drinks. Plenty of parking space.

Overwhelming and beautiful. The exhibitions range from disturbing and thoughtful to lighthearted and interactive. A must see if you're in the region. Plan on spending 3+ hours the if you'd really like to experience and digest the art. Not every exhibit is for the lighthearted including one with a range of dead animals and human body parts in varying forms of decay but it can easily be passed over. The experience was stunning and I'll definitely be back.

Recommended. This art installation is a well curated journey through a decaying and dystopian chronology; queasy taxidermy counterpoised against a wry look at human endeavour and frailty. The birds will prevail!

Really wonderfull place, full of amazing art. Pieces and sculptures, some integrated into the gardens and nature. Passing by on our way to the coast, we stopped during a rainy day and only explored the inside exhibition with the kids. Although it is NOT a playground they we're amazed and fascinated. The current expo with pieces of Panamarenko is awesome. We will for sure come back this summer to explore the outside. For the hungry kids, they serve a nice priced 'krok uit het vuistje', enjoy it on their outside terrace! Big thank you for the Verbeke family to share their private collections.
