Kulaura Junction Railway Station

Kulaura–Shahbazpur The Kulaura–Shahbazpur railway line was started in 1885 as part of the Assam–Bengal Railway. Comilla-Akhaura-Shahbajpur railway was established in 1896. The length of Kulaura-Shahbajpur railway is 42 km. Or, the length of the railway is 52.54 km.

local people said it was built by British. Once people commute to India, and the communication between Bangladesh and India was much easier that time. now it has beautiful lake besides the station.

There are several direct trains between Dhaka and Sylhet, such as Parabat, Jointika and Upbon. The one-way journey takes a little over seven hours. There also are trains to Chittagong from Sylhet.
There is another line beside that which would be used earlier for sending goods from Assam to Chittagong port

It's our home town. Kulaura railway junction station.It's very important route of Bangladesh. Sylhet -Dhaka, Sylhet- Chitangong line cross this rail station. And It's one of the busy Station of Bangladesh.Most of people of this areas are travelling by train.Every train stop this railway station but most of the time we travelling stand by because of short number of ticket.

Kulaura (Bengali: কুলাউড়া, Sylheti: ꠇꠥꠟꠣꠃꠠꠣ) is the biggest upazila (subdistrict) of the Moulvibazar District in north-eastern Bangladesh. The total area of this upazila is 545 km2. Hakaluki Haor, the largest marsh wetland in Sylhet and one of the largest in Bangladesh is partially located there. It was also the headquarters of the aristocratic (Nawab) Prithim Pasha family.

Kulaura Junction Railway station is connected with Sylhet, Shahbajpur, Dhaka and Chittagong station. All types of passenger amenities available at this station. Passenger can buy tickets round the clock.
