Chowdhury Bari Palace

It's my cousin's Grandfather (Mom's Father)'s house.Late Minu Chowdhury’s House. Great human nd A Freedom Fighter as well.I personally know Him.He was a great personality. Currently His Son and Wife live there. I occasionally pay visit there 🖤

Its more than an hundred years old palace of Landlord Chowdhury. Locally this place is known as Chowdhurybari. It's a two storeyed building. The palace is quite simple but very attractive. Around the palace, there is a small grassy playground and many trees including some coconut trees.

This place is of our landlord home...

Nothing much to see. Its just a old residence Built on 1937 AD.

Most palaces or mansions from colony period are either abandoned or ruined, and some are being used as government facilities. Chowdhury Bari at Dowrani, Nilphamari is one of the remaining few where people live even now.

Chowdhury bari is occupied by a family, couldn't be told if they are the ancestors of the Chowdhury family. They've made a decent home out of the palace, living only on the first floor. The ground floor remains abandoned and not cared for, or being used as storehouse.

This place is not open for visitors, so whoever wishes to checkout this building should respect the privacy of the residents.
