Abduj Zohur Bridge

The longest bridge in Sunamganj District stands as an engineering marvel, seamlessly connecting the heart of Sunamganj Town with five strategically important Upazilas - Bishomborpur, Tahirpur, Jamalganj, Madhyanagar, and Dharampasha. This architectural feat not only enhances transportation but also symbolizes unity across diverse regions. On August 2015, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Surma River Bridge in the Mallikpur area of Sunamganj through a video conference. The bridge was named after Sunamganj district Awami League president and public leader Abduz Zahur.

A bridge directly connects Jamalganj, Bishwambharpur, Tahirpur and Dharmapasha upazilas with the district headquarters.

At the same time, tourists have to go through this bridge to at least 10 to 12 spots including Jadukata river, Barek hill, Shaheed Siraj lake, Tekerghat limestone mining project, Tanguar haor, Shimul garden, Bikibil, Shah Arefin Mazar hill and Mahaprabhu Sri Adyaita birthplace. And in the monsoon season, standing on the bridge, tourists enjoy the rapid flow of water coming down from Meghalaya and the murmur of Surma river.

The bridge is helpful for other people. I saw one unique point of this bridge. It has one part of a steel structure. Maybe it's a portable part.

Just visited that place with my elder brothers who were judicial magistrates of Sunamganj on that time. All of us enjoyed that tour Because of Their hospitality 😍.

It's actually a night view of Abduj Johur Bridge. At night the bridge appears with a beautiful scenario. As there is no lamppost there, photography will be great for who loves photography.
