Introduction: Shahid Arju Moni Govt. Secondary School is a co-education school of Barishal city. It is a new school. It was established. under the priority project of the prime minister of Bangladesh. It has 913 students now.

The school is located at Kaunia Housing in Barishal City Corporation. It is at the north side of Barishal City. From Sador Hospital or Jail Khana Mour one can go to our school by auto-rickshaw. From here it takes only 7 minutes to reach our school by auto-rickshaw. It is located at the end of Janoki Singh Road. It is 7 minutes' way from Natun Bazar by auto-rickshaw. The auto-rickshaw goes along the BISIC road to our school. Naming of the school: At first, the school was named Kaunia Govt. Secondary School. On 14.07.2016, the school was renamed as Shahid Arju Moni Govt. Secondary School. Arju Moni, daughter of Shahid Abdur Rob Semiabat expired on 15th August, 1975 with Bangobandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members.

Brief History:

Since 2016 there were only two govt. schools in Barishal City. The elite persons and the guardians of Barishal were claiming for establishing more govt. schools here. At last present Government took initiatives to set up two government schools in Barishal City. As a City Mayor, Md. Shawkot Hossain Hiron played an important role in selecting land and other official activities for these two esteemed schools. At the end of the year of 2015, the government decided to start academic activities of the two schools. Accordingly, the academic activities of Shahid Arju Moni Govt. secondary School started on 01.01.2016. As the construction of the school building was not completed, its academic activities started temporarily in the College Building of Barishal Zilla School. On 01.01.2018 A.D. the school came to its own building. Within only these two years, the school has earned much reputation.

Description of the School building: The school has a seven storeyed-building. It has 49 rooms. Every classroom is well equipped with modern educational facilities. Every classroom has multimedia projector, smart board, laptop, sound box etc. The school is surrounded with a beautiful wall. There is a nice playground in front of the school. There are three laboratory rooms physics, chemistry and biology. In the 2nd floor, there is a gorgeous computer lab. There are Headmaster's room, teachers' room, office room, MLSS room etc. in the ground floor. There are a rich

library, a big prayer room, a common room etc. in our school building. In the 7th floor there is a big hall room for arranging different functions and programs. Future plan: A guardian shed and a cycle shed will be built

beside the school gate. Students coming to school riding on their bye-cycles will keep their cycles in the cycle shed. Guardian can wait and rest in the quardian shed. Headmaster's Quarter. In the right side of the school building there is a nice duplex building for the Headmaster. It is situated inside the school boundary. School uniform: The male students have to wear light violet. shirt and white pant with school batch, white ked and black.
